Bell Gardens quarterback Tristian Escobar<\/p><\/div>\n

(El Monte) – Alhambra, Bell Gardens and Rosemead joined Arroyo Saturday morning to throw the ball around. It\u2019s only April but all four teams already know they have things to work out before September.<\/p>\n

Arroyo is facing life without Steven Rivera, a four year starter at quarterback. Rosemead missed the playoffs last year and will be fighting to regain a spot in the post season. Bell Gardens had defensive issues last year but likes the look of quarterback Tristian Escobar and Alhambra has talent coming back from a 9-3 team but the Moors are looking for a starting quarterback now that two year starter Josh Mendoza has transferred.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re missing Brandon Jauregui because he is still in baseball,\u201d said Arroyo Coach Jim Singiser of his probable starting quarterback. \u201cBut we have a couple of other kids out here throwing including Anthony Miller\u2019s brother Chaz Miller.\u201d Singiser is also high on receiver Christian Serna who joins returner Andre Kerkhoff.<\/p>\n

Rosemead's Adan Guillen ready to fire<\/p><\/div>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s different being out here in April but it\u2019s great. Arroyo does a great job of having teams out here,\u201d said Bell Gardens Coach David Ramos. \u201cI like the way Tristian is throwing the ball. He came in late last year and we liked what he saw and he\u2019s definitely getting it this year. He\u2019s definitely the guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Moors have talent returning<\/p><\/div>\n

\u201cI like being out here early because when May and June come we won\u2019t have to do as much teaching. We\u2019re doing that now,\u201d said Rosemead Coach Marc Paramo. \u201cWhen we really start to get going in May our kids will already know a lot of these things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adan Guillen, last year\u2019s starter, got in some reps but Paramo is looking at couple of other kids as well including Everado Camacho.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, it\u2019s wide open,\u201d Paramo said of the quarterback position.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish he would have given me a chance but we\u2019ll move on,\u201d said Alhambra Coach Joe Kanach of Mendoza\u2019s transfer. \u201cWe have some other guys that can step in. We liked the way Daniel Rodriguez looked today.\u201d<\/p>\n
