With the win, the Dawgs (13-6, 7-3) now have a two game lead in an otherwise chaotic Sierra League with five to play. The others (Chino Hills, Charter Oak, Damien, Claremont, Ayala) are a mere two games apart.

Ty France laid the first strike beating a throw on a sharp shot to third that drove in Danny Sheehan. However, the throw hopped onto right field, allowing C.J Saylor to score and France moved to second. After Mike Dlugos singled and stole second to put runners on second and third, Jonathan Ayala sent both to paydirt by singling straight up center. He later stole a run to make it 5-0 in the first.

In the third, Saylor and France each batted in a run in via long mid-infield pull and a sac-flyout before a relay on Dlugos’ second hit, flown onto left, slipped by the cutoff. The ensuing throw home was also botched by the catcher, allowing for a 8-0 South Hills lead. Isaiah Gonzales delivered a run via airmail to left while an RBI single from pinch-hitter Sergio Perez-Loa rounded out the scoring.

The Bulldogs notched their lone score in the third when Rudy Casarez scored on an outfield miscue on Vahn Bozoian’s fly to left.

Adrian De Horta started for the Huskies but left with a no-decision after completing only three innings.
