(Azusa)- One hundred high school football players came out to Azusa Pacific University on Saturday to participate in APU\u2019s one day camp.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t be happier with how this turned out,\u201d said Cougar HC Victor Santa Cruz. \u201cWe had a great group come out and work hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

The camp feature a fast-paced day of competition, skill building, and information on collegiate recruiting. The students received from the APU staff a variety of training and exercises along with a film study session.<\/p>\n

Among those participating was Valley Christian defensive standout Clayton Granch. Granch, who started his career as a quarterback then moved to defensive end last season, will move to middle linebacker this fall for the Crusaders.<\/p>\n

A contingent of eight players from Mt. View High School paid their 75 bucks and took part in the camp. They were; Xavier Yanez, Chris Gonzalez, William Castillo, Josh Martinez, Yazban Martinez, Jose Gonzalez, Jonathan Carrillo, and Alfred Martinez.<\/p>\n

Mt. View was well represented at APU<\/p><\/div>\n

The Cougars themselves will return to the playing field the first week of August and will open their season on the road at U.C. Davis on August 30th.<\/p>\n
