(Rowland Heights) – Last year was one Rowland would like to forget. The Raiders\u00a0finished\u00a02-8 and out of the playoffs.\u00a0That page has turned\u00a0and although they\u00a0are still young they are looking for a fresh start.<\/p>\n

“We’re just so green,”\u00a0said Rowland Coach\u00a0Craig Snyder. “We have some good talent\u00a0but\u00a0we just\u00a0need some more experience.”<\/p>\n

Quarterback George Campos returns\u00a0for\u00a0his senior season. Last year Campos threw for\u00a0over 1000 yards. Avery Duffus is a key skill player for Rowland. Duffus\u00a0will see time at runnning back and\u00a0at cornerback on defense.<\/p>\n

The Bubbas running gassers<\/p><\/div>\n

“He’s really been runnning the ball well,” said Snyder. “He’s going to be really\u00a0good for us.<\/p>\n

Other players to watch are\u00a0fullback Terrance Reed, free safety Rudy Andrade, strong safety Diego\u00a0Arias and linebacker Julio Budalo. Up front the Raiders will be led by Greg Lawton, Ivan Ruiz-Guzman, Joel Delgado and Jesus Roman.<\/p>\n

And the skill players were a little faster…<\/p><\/div>\n

“Jesus (Roman), 5-10, 260, is\u00a0just a big boy. Down near the goal line within five yards he’s\u00a0really effective. And as for Arias he’s long and lean\u00a0and will be\u00a0big for us in the secondary.”<\/p>\n

Arias is expected to play some wide receiver as well.<\/p>\n

The Raiders open at Nogales and then tavel to Wilson in the first two weeks.\u00a0Then they get Northview at home and\u00a0Arroyo on the road before opening league play.<\/p>\n
