{"id":26820,"date":"2012-09-14T18:22:28","date_gmt":"2012-09-15T01:22:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=26820"},"modified":"2017-06-10T10:33:15","modified_gmt":"2017-06-10T17:33:15","slug":"covina-0-walnut-0","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=26820","title":{"rendered":"Covina Wins as Walnut Rally Falls Short, 33-28"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><em><\/em><\/em>By Matt Schuler\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>(Walnut)-Cameron Siete did all he could for his Mustangs, scoring all four touchdowns to lead a late game rally, but it wasn\u2019t enough as Walnut fell short to Covina 33-28 on\u00a0its home field Friday night at Kenn Gunn Stadium.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Just before halftime, Covina\u00a0quarterback Emilo Zertuche found Christian Padilla for a 35-yard\u00a0touchdown pitch and catch to\u00a0give the Colts their\u00a0biggest lead at 28-7<\/p>\n<p>Down 27-8 at halftime, Siete came out in the third and led his team down the field on a 10-play drive and score. Finding Cody Lepp on the 13-yard back shoulder fade in the end zone, cutting the deficit to 27-15 with 4:37 on the clock.<\/p>\n<p>Late in the fourth, and down 12, the Mustang (1-3) defense forced Zertuche to fumble and Walnut\u2019s Christopher Cuevas came up with the ball from under the pile.
