The Wildcats\u00a0prevailed despite having four touchdowns called back.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Monrovia reached\u00a035 in an unuual\u00a0fashion. They scored four touchdowns,\u00a0a two point conversion and\u00a0had three extra point attempts\u00a0blocked. Mason\u00a0Bryant also booted three field goals.<\/p>\n<p>Darione Jones, who rushed for\u00a080 yards had\u00a0touchdown runs of\u00a0ten and 28 yards called back in the\u00a0fourth quarter. Gevontray Ainsworth had a 30 yard reception for a score called back and\u00a0Craft stepped in front of a Josh Avila pass and returned it 55 yards to the\u00a0house just before halftime, only to see a yellow flag\u00a0on the field and the big play was nullified.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We had four touchdowns called back. We made this game closer than it really was,&#8221;\u00a0said Monrovia Coach Ryan Maddox. &#8220;You can&#8217;t put it on the refs. We can&#8217;t make those penalties whatever the case may be. We&#8217;ve got to clean it up. But I&#8217;m very proud of the way we played. This game was a good step forward for us. We&#8217;re progressing and that&#8217;s what we want to do right now.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Craft did haul in a 43 yard touchdown pass from\u00a0Heyworth midway through the third quarter to give Monrovia a comfortable\u00a029-16 lead.\u00a0San Dimas came right back\u00a0when Mitchell Giles intercepted Heyworth and returned it to the Wildcat 30. Five plays and a pass interference\u00a0penalty later,\u00a0Jake Payton\u00a0scored on a nine yard run to get the Saints within six.<\/p>\n<p>While Monrovia was shutting down San Dimas\u00a0in the fourth, Bryant hit a pair of field goals\u00a0from 39 and 31 yards out to ice it. San Dimas went for it on a\u00a0fourth and\u00a0one from its own 29 with 8:41 left but was denied by the Wildcat front. Bryant then turned that into three points for the Cats.<\/p>\n<p>In the first half there were five lead changes. After a bad snap, a fumble and a safety\u00a0gave San Dimas a 2-0 lead, the Saints fumbled the kick off and\u00a0Monrovia recovered. Heyworth made them pay\u00a0with a quick 17 yard touchdown strike to Craft for a 6-2 M-Town lead. Craft had three catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>San Dimas answered when Payton\u00a0scampered 55 yards for a score to recapture the lead.\u00a0Monrovia brushed it off and drove\u00a062 yards on ten plays to regain the advantage. Louis Javier was on the end of a eight yard Heyworth pass.<\/p>\n<p>The Saints\u00a0had one more punch to throw.\u00a0They marched 80 yards\u00a0for a touchdown with Josh Avila\u00a0finding Andrew Espinoza for a 17 yard TD pass and San Dimas was on top again 16-12. That was the last time the Saints led.<\/p>\n<p>Ainsworth scored on an eight yard run and\u00a0Brett Walsh caught a two point conversion pass. After Craft&#8217;s pick to paydirt was\u00a0deleted by laundry, Monrovia settled for\u00a0a 38 yard Bryant field goal. For a 29-16 halftime lead.<\/p>\n<p>The Cats then settled the game in the second\u00a0half.<\/p>\n<p>Payton was the man for\u00a0San Dimas, rushing 20 times for 162 yards and a pair of\u00a0touchdowns. Espinoza had five catches for 73 yards and a touchdown.<\/p>\n<p>Ainsworth joined Jones\u00a0in the Cat rushing attack with\u00a0141 yards and a score. He also had a big touchdown run called back.<\/p>\n<p>Monrovia, (2-1), gets South Hills next week followed by St. Francis.
