SG certainly showed speed when on its first play of the game quarterback Marqus Valenzuela connected with Mayorga for 86 yard touchdown.<\/p>\n<p>Baldwin Park answered right back, on the ensuing possession quarterback Anthony Flores capped\u00a0an 18 play 67 yard drive with a one-yard QB sneak to tie the game at seven.<\/p>\n<p>Early in the second quarter, the Matadors were on the Brave 20 when Mayorga lined up in wildcat formation and rushed right down the middle for the 20-yard score. The Mats led 14-7<\/p>\n<p>BP, led by running back Niko Carravantes who had 21 carries for 80 yards, again put on a lengthy drive that was extended by an SG penalty. The drive stalled deep in Matador territory and the Braves settled with a 28-yard field goal make by Dylan Mora.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He&#8217;s one of our guys we&#8217;re leaning to be our work house,&#8221; said Oliva of his running back Mayorga.<\/p>\n<p>Valenzuela finished the night with 313 yards passing and four touchdowns, with the second coming late in the first half when he connected with Mayorga again &#8211; this time for a 33-yard screen for a touchdown.<\/p>\n<p>Down 21-10, Baldwin Park looked to build momentum before halftime with a score of their own. BP&#8217;s Flores was intercepted on their very next possession by SG&#8217;s Gabriel Larios and set up the Matadors in scoring position. Valenzuela connected with Isai Fernandez on a 32-yard touchdown pass and ended the scoring for the half. SG led 27-10.<\/p>\n<p>Baldwin Park\u00a0started the third quarter with the ball and a solid run game behind Carravantes. During their beginning drive, the Braves executed a fake punt to perfection and found themselves on the San Gabriel 34.
