Got an email complaint about Temple City players starting the season with horns on their helmets. Traditionally the horns don\u2019t go on the helmets until after the first win of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n

I like tradition, I\u2019m for preserving tradition, but this one…this one doesn\u2019t bug me. Not an issue. However if Arroyo and TC stop facing off in the season opener, then we\u2019re going to have a problem. <\/span><\/p>\n

With the Pacific in flux keep an eye on Burbank, which has been impressive the first two weeks of the season. New HC Hector Valencia has done a solid job so far in stepping in for Ted Amorosi.<\/span><\/p>\n

After watching Buffalo-New England can the NFL let me know when they are going to allow tackling again…because the penalties on Adalias Thomas and Vince Wilfork were fan-killers.<\/span><\/p>\n

San Gabriel goes to B-Bank this week to play the Bulldogs for the first time since November 15, 1991 when both schools were still in the Foothill League. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Bulldogs won 27-20 that night as Mike Cordero added a pair of late scoring runs for SG. The loss, finishing the Matador season at 0-10, was the 23rd consecutive defeat for the school. The streak would extend to 35 in a row before the Mats earned a 6-0 win over Mt. View on September 24, 1993. Dominic Urias scored the game winner on a nine-yard pass from Javier Mercado. <\/span><\/p>\n

South Hills got a nice game out of sophomore running back Jamel Hart on Friday. Steve Bogan\u2019s going to need him to have an even bigger game against La Habra Thursday night. The Huskies have lost their last three contests with the Highlanders by a combined score of 80 to 29.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last Note South Hills: Former South El Monte standout Neiko Padilla was in on five tackles for SH against Ayala on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n
