As a team the Warrior offense rushed 378-yards and seven touchdowns.

“That was our philosophy, ground and pound and try to wear them out,” said Rohrer “Then hopefully by halftime or the fourth quarter they are worn out.”

Ruben Elias was the first to score for the Warriors when he busted a 25-yard run for six on LP’s first play on the second drive.

Following the Elias run, both Noel Martinez and Centeno strung together four rushing touchdowns.

Martinez took the handoff and spilt the tackles going 69-yards for six. Centeno topped Martinez when he ran for two 40 plus TD runs before intermission.
From that point on it seemed that LP was scoring on every possession including on defense.

The Warriors sacked Giant quarterback Albert Henry and Dexter Summer five times. One of those sacks was a fumble that was recovered for a touchdown in the third quarter.
“Coach Greg Vaniman did a great job setting up the defense this week,” said Rohrer “He made a couple of adjustments from last week and and the boys deserve a lot of credit.”

The Warrior defense, created numerous problems for the Giants. QB Henry only completed four passes out of 27. He also threw a INT and was sacked twice.

His counter part, Summer had a little more success than Henry. Summer completed four passes out of ten. He was also responsible for the Giants only score. He connected with Gordon Milton for a 19-yard TD pass late in the fourth.

“If we would have played our game, we would have had it but we didn’t,” said Giant HC Darrick Rice. “We just had a off day.” With the loss, the Giants fall to 0-2 in Montview play. They will look to bounce back when they host Azusa next week.

With the win, the Warriors even their league play record at 1-1. They look to continue on the winning path when they travel to Sierra Vista.

By Alex Gonzalez (La Puente) -La Puente’s rushing attack amassed 378-yards led by Joey Centeno who rushed for 102-yards. Bryan Landeros filled in for the injured Ivan Vasquez.

[12816

post-27552","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-hsfootball
["GET
