La Puente (6-2) <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Year: Azusa 50-21<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A lot is at stake in this game as a win means a share of the Montview and a loss means a long road trip in the playoffs. The Aztecs will need to guard against a letdown after last week\u2019s huge win and the Warriors want to avenge the shellacking they took from Azusa last year. Based on mutual opponents this game is a pick-em.<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La Puente 28 Azusa 27<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sierra Vista (5-3) at Duarte (4-4)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Year: Sierra Vista \u00a027-21<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This game is not just for pride as a possible wildcard playoff berth is on the line. Last year\u2019s win by the Don\u2019s kept the Falcons out so Duarte will want to exact some revenge. The only team with an advantage in this one is that the Falcon\u2019s are at home and it will be enough.<\/p>\n<p>Duarte 24 Sierra Vista 19<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olympic<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Valley Christian (2-5) at Maranatha (2-6)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Year: Valley Christian \u00a026-18<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a very different Minuteman team than the one that started 0-5. Maranatha gave Whittier Christian all it wanted last Friday night and know second place in the Olympic and post season is within their grasp. Hasn\u2019t played well since week one against Duarte (the win over Heritage last week notwithstanding) giving up an average of 45.8 points in their five losses. Pete Karavedas and his staff know two wins and second place in the Olympic is theirs. Maranatha gets it done.<\/p>\n<p>Maranatha 27 Valley Christian 14<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pioneer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>El Segundo (4-4) at Centennial (2-6)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Year: El Segundo 21-20<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Eagles need this game if they want to remain in second place in the Pioneer. Right behind them is Torrance who gets the league\u2019s week sister Lawndale. Centennial needs the win to keep pace and climb into the third spot if they want any hope for post season play.<\/p>\n<p>El Segundo 31 Centennial 21<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday 10\/27<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tri-Valley<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nordhoff (8-0) at Bishop Diego (8-0) at Santa Barbara City College.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Year: Did not play<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI firmly believe that any man\u2019s finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in good cause and lies exhausted on the battle field \u2013 victorious.\u201d Vince Lombardi<\/p>\n<p>Both teams are undefeated. Both have been at the top of the Northwest polls the entire season. The league title is on the line in probably the biggest game of the year in the Northwest Division. Does \u2018fate of the world\u201d fit here? Rangers are averaging 41.3 ppg led by Tanner Workman\u2019s and Tayler Livingston\u2019s 34 scores. The Cardinals counter with a 45.1 ppg led by Anthony Carter\u2019s and Abel Gonzalez\u2019s 25. The defenses for both teams have been stellar. So where is the difference? Turnover differential. Plus 15 for the Cardinals and plus 5 for the Rangers.<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Deigo 35 Nordhoff 33<\/p>\n<p>Love that this game is on Saturday.
