With five wins Azusa needs this one to assure a taste of post season play. Sierra Vista with six can still make it if they lose with some favor from the CIF selection gods. Sierra Vista is averaging more than 300 yards on the ground this year and the Aztecs had trouble with LP’s ground game last week. If Jose Ledesma can go after being hobbled last week the Aztecs have a chance. If not, they may be looking at turning in their gear.

Sierra Vista 21 Azusa 17

Olympic

Maranatha (3-6) v.Village Christian (5-4) at Occidental College

Last Year: Maranatha 34-17

The winner locks up second in the Olympic and a guaranteed post season play but it’s also win or go home for Maranatha. Eli Synder has come into his own for the Minutemen and the O-line is opening holes for Omar Younger. Village Christian is still looking for a signature win and a loss means relying on the mercy of CIF for post season. Records and point totals against common opponents are similar but Village is at home. Home field advantage however won’t be enough.

Maranatha 27 Village Christian 24

Pioneer

El Segundo (4-5) at South (4-5)

Last Year: El Segundo 17-14

The Eagles potentially could claim the third spot in the Pioneer with a win and if the Earth stops turning and Centennial loses to Lawndale. Otherwise, both teams will be looking for their fifth win and a chance to throw their names in the wild card hat. Since 2006 the series is tied 3-3.
