(Azusa) – Nnadi Udengwu scored 18 points including 14 in the first half to lead\u00a0Diamond Ranch to a 51-36 win over Gladstone Wednesday at the\u00a0Azusa Tournament.<\/p>\n
Ernest\u00a0Ugoagu added 11 for the Panthers\u00a0who jumped out to a 10-0 advantage right out of the gate.\u00a0Diamond Ranch led 14-6 after one as Ugoagu scored six in the quarter and Udengwu tossed in seven.<\/p>\n
The Panthers\u00a0opened up a 20 point lead by halftime\u00a0at 36-16 as Udengwu hit a three and a couple of buckets. Paolo Reoizo also knocked down a three\u00a0and had five points in the second quarter. The Diamond Ranch defense\u00a0locked down the Gladiators, outscoring Gladstone\u00a022-10 in the second quarter and effectively putting the game on ice.<\/p>\n
Gladstone outscored the Panthers by five in the\u00a0second half but\u00a0Diamond Ranch emptied its bench\u00a0in the fourth quarter.\u00a0No other Panther was in double figures after Udengwu and Ugoagu. Jesse Garibay and Ethan\u00a0Jarrell each added six.<\/p>\n
For Gladstone\u00a0Manny\u00a0Chavira scored 10 to lead the team but eight of those came in the final\u00a0period. Ben Reaves had eight and\u00a0Andy Villalobos chipped in seven.<\/p>\n
Diamond Ranch moves on\u00a0to the tournament championship game tomorrow.\u00a0The Panthers improved to 6-2 overall. It was the first loss for Gladstone as the Gladiators fell to 4-1.<\/p>\n
