{"id":3180,"date":"2009-10-02T08:22:53","date_gmt":"2009-10-02T15:22:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=3180"},"modified":"2009-10-02T08:24:45","modified_gmt":"2009-10-02T15:24:45","slug":"arcadia-gets-first-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=3180","title":{"rendered":"Arcadia Gets First Win"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_3179\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3179\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3179\" title=\"DSC_0007\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/DSC_0007-300x217.jpg\" alt=\"Apache back Everett Frazier is lead around the corner by lineman Nas Shalabi\" width=\"300\" height=\"217\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-3179\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Apache back Everett Frazier is led around the corner by lineman Nas Shalabi<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>(Glendale)- Coming off a bitter tie, led by a sophomore quarterback and a back up tailback, worked out well for Arcadia Thursday night as they scored a 34-16 victory over Glendale at Moyse Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe started four sophomores tonight,\u201d said Apache coach Jon Dimalante. \u201cAnd they did a nice job, Taylor (Lagace) led us once again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After falling behind 3-0 in the first quarter Lagace scored on a 16-yard hitch from Myles Carr to give Arcadia a lead it wouldn\u2019t relinquish.<\/p>\n<p>It was another outstanding night for Lagace who grabbed eight passes for 115-yards and two touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>Carr, replacing the injured Garrett Tuck, went 13 of 20 for 236-yards and three touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s got a nice arm, good release, and is very athletic,\u201d said Dimalante. \u201cHe\u2019s filling in nicely for Garrett.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the second quarter back up tailback Everett Frazier (15-95-yards Td) highlighted a seven-play 74-yard drive with a key 23-yard run before going in from five yards to make the score 14-7.<\/p>\n<p>The Nitros were led by quarterback Moises Chavez. The senior signal caller completed 23 of 36 passes for 264-yards to several receivers including Dillion Fuller who shook off two Apache defenders on the sideline and scored on a 27-yard pass-play with 4:11 left in the half.<\/p>\n<p>With the gap closed to 14-10 and after a 14-yard loss on a fumble, Carr went to Lester Cheung. Starting from the Arcadia 21, Cheung began to shed tacklers. At the 40 he shed two more, at the 50 he broke free of a final defender and was gone to paydirt.<\/p>\n<p>With 43-seconds remaining before the break, the Apaches drove in the dagger when Carr went again to Lagace for 22-yards and a 28-10 lead.<\/p>\n<p>The teams traded scores in the fourth.
