{"id":31833,"date":"2013-03-18T23:00:26","date_gmt":"2013-03-19T06:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=31833"},"modified":"2013-03-18T23:03:45","modified_gmt":"2013-03-19T06:03:45","slug":"apaches-yield-to-yucaipa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=31833","title":{"rendered":"Apaches Yield to Yucaipa"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>By Corey Kwok<br \/>\n(Arcadia) &#8211; Cleanup hitter Dillon Rezendes drove in two runs\u00a0and\u00a0Yucaipa, scored\u00a0all three of its runs with two outs to beat Arcadia 3-1 Monday night\u00a0at Giambrone Field in a second round game of the Babe Herman Tournament.<\/div>\n<div><!--more--><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Arcadia had a golden opportunity to strike back when David Dominguez, who dragged the first pitch up the 4-3 path for an infield single, stole second and advanced to third with one out on a wild pitch. But he\u00a0was\u00a0thwarted when the ensuing pitch went for strike two and a pickoff by catcher Billy Baldwin, before\u00a0Taylor Pelissero dealt a strikeout to nix the threat and retire the minimum three. Pelissero retired the side in order\u00a0in five of the six innings he threw in a convincing victory for the Thunderbird southpaw.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Baldwin later sizzled a two out RBI double past third and down left field foul land to cash Tom Lerouge, the leadoff man in the lineup who batted 3 for 4 and scored Yucaipa&#8217;s first two runs.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Arcadia finally got going in the bottom of the seventh against closer Austin Blakemore when Troy Resch led off with a double to the left-center alley. Yucaipa then held the Apaches on, getting a groundout at short, and air bloop to first baseman Kyle Roy, before Jason Bunch walked and Brendan Toy singled in Resch to put the tying run on first and go-ahead run at the plate.
