The Warriors jumped out to a 14-o lead in the first quarter and controlled it the rest of the way.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Covina cut the lead to 14-7\u00a0early in the second quarter but could never got any closer.<\/p>\n<p>***Jacob Tovar&#8217;s final line was\u00a015-22-248 yards and a touchdown passing and\u00a06-24-1 TD rushing. It was Tovar&#8217;s first game\u00a0as the starter for La Puente.<\/p>\n<p>***Tovar hit\u00a0Jose Ochoa a 39 yard touchdown pass\u00a0with 4:36 left in the first quarter. On the next possession he hit Ochoa\u00a0again, this time for 71 yards for a score.<\/p>\n<p>***Ochoa\u00a0didnt catch a pass in the second half\u00a0and\u00a0finished\u00a0with four receptions\u00a0for 129 yards and two touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>***Cesar\u00a0Espinoza and Jovanni Gonzalez did the damage on the ground for LP rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown combined.<\/p>\n<p>***Pernell Smalley was the workhorse for Covina and scored both Colt touchdowns. He rushed for 82 yards and a score\u00a0 and also caught a 15 yard screen pass from Darren Torres for a touchdown.<\/p>\n<p>***Tovar scored on a two yard run with 1:33 left in the contest to cap a 49 yard, 10-play\u00a0drive to ice it.<\/p>\n<p>***&#8221;We made some big plays early and that really helped.
