In a see saw battle Rosemead scored first but was down 20-13 at halftime. The Panthers opened the third quarter with two scores to grab the lead and never looked back.<\/p>\n<p>***Ahhing, only a freshman, wasn&#8217;t\u00a0projected to start the season but Steven Nava\u00a0broke his pinkie finger\u00a0and has missed the first two games.\u00a0Nava could be back\u00a0next week.<\/p>\n<p>***With the score tied at six in the second quarter, Ahhing found Oscar Noriega for a\u00a066 yard touchdown strike.<\/p>\n<p>***Noriega had six catches for 108 yards and a score.<\/p>\n<p>***The Panthers\u00a0commited a huge turnover in the first quarter, when\u00a0Cameron Haynie scooped up a fumble and returned it\u00a059 yards for a touchdown to tie the game at 13.<\/p>\n<p>***Angel Lopez had\u00a022 carries for 97 ayrds for Rosemead.<\/p>\n<p>***South had eight different players run the football but none had more than 48 yards total.<\/p>\n<p>***After South tied the score at 27\u00a0early in the fourth, Ahhing hit Luis Luna for a 24 yard score and then Zavala scored from four yards out with 1:24 left to put the game\u00a0away.<\/p>\n<p>****South scored with no time remaining on the clock on\u00a0a touchdown pass by Anthony Peters\u00a0to make the final score\u00a041-33. Peters completed 14 of 23 for 145 yards and two touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>***We were too conservative last week.\u00a0 Tonight we opened it up and had some fun.\u00a0Isaia is very calm and cool under pressure. He did a great job.&#8221; &#8211; Rosemead HC Marc Paramo.<\/p>\n<p>***The Panthers improved\u00a0to 1-1 and will travel to Warren next week.
