The Cougars managed just\u00a073 yards on the ground and 176 overall while suffering their second defeat of the season.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Azusa Pacific turned the ball over\u00a0once on a fumble and converted just one of 13 third downs.\u00a0The Cougars were\u00a00-3 on fourth downs.\u00a0APU&#8217;s only points came courtesy of a\u00a0Jaime Cacciatore 32 -yard field goal with\u00a010:56 left in the second quarter.<\/p>\n<p>***Central Washington recovers onside kick to start game.<\/p>\n<p>***Cougars start Justin McPherson at quarterback for second consecutive week but McPherson was replaced by Dasmen Stewart with 44 seconds left in the\u00a0third quarter.<\/p>\n<p>***With 10:16 to play APU forces fumble&#8230;Silas Goma recovers\u00a0at its own nine-yard line.<\/p>\n<p>***It was the fourth time in two weeks the Cougars have held a team scoreless inside the Red Zone.<\/p>\n<p>***Jordan Todd&#8217;s\u00a044-yard run late in the first set up Central Washington at the APU three.\u00a0Jake Nelson then hit Adam Schechter for a three-yard TD strike for a 7-0 lead\u00a0and the only touchdown of the contest.<\/p>\n<p>***In the first quarter APU had four\u00a0possessions that ended in\u00a0three punts and a fumble.<\/p>\n<p>***Central Washington led APU 7-3 at halftime and\u00a0both teams went scoreless in the second half.<\/p>\n<p>***The Wildcats snapped the Cougars 6-game GNAC winning streak&#8230;.It was APU&#8217;s homecoming victory over Central Washington in 2012 that began the winning streak.<\/p>\n<p>***The Cougar defense registered 3 sacks. The Wildcats 4.<\/p>\n<p>***APU&#8217;s leading rusher, Terrell Watson, was held to 44 yards on 13 carries. His nine game scoring streak was snapped.<\/p>\n<p>***Sean Barber led APU with 15 tackles. Tyler Thornton was in on 12 stops.<\/p>\n<p>***Azusa Pacific quarterback stats:\u00a0Justin McPherson 7-17-53 yards&#8230;Dasmen Stewart 3-13-51<\/p>\n<p>***&#8221;You have to play good defense in this league and stop the run.
