Watson scored\u00a0all five touchdowns in the second half\u00a0including four\u00a0in the fourth quarter to become APU&#8217;s\u00a0all-time career rushing touchdown leader.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The Cougars trailed 23-3 at halftime and Watson\u00a0had only 28 yards in the first half before exploding in the second half. APU\u00a0finally took the lead early in the fourth quarter on a 70-yard run by Watson but the lead changed hands twice more before the Cougs settled it late with two more\u00a0Watson touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_35206\" style=\"width: 478px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/100.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35206\" class=\" wp-image-35206 \" alt=\"Terrell Watson receives the game ball from former Cougar Christian Okoye\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/100-770x768.jpg\" width=\"468\" height=\"466\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-35206\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Terrell Watson receives the game ball from former Cougar Christian Okoye<\/p><\/div>\n<p>***With the five touchdowns Watson broke the single game APU TD record held by Christian Okoye,\u00a0who attended the game and was on hand afterwards to congratulate\u00a0Watson.<\/p>\n<p>***Watson came into the game as the sixth leading rusher\u00a0for APU and fourth all time in\u00a0rushing touchdowns. With the five scores Watson\u00a0jumped over\u00a0Okoye, John ven den Raadt and Ben Buys\u00a0to become\u00a0the Cougars&#8217; career touchdown record holder.<\/p>\n<p>***Watson also had a 68 yard touchdown run\u00a0with 5:10 left in the contest that gave\u00a0Azusa Pacific a 37-36 lead. He then scored again on a 13 yard run with\u00a02:20\u00a0left to seal it.<\/p>\n<p>***Watson&#8217;s 299 yard night\u00a0also\u00a0was the second best\u00a0single game yards total in Great Northwest Athletic Conference history and he tied the\u00a0GNAC record for single game rushing touchdowns with five. His 10.3 yards per carry\u00a0was a conference best for highest single game rsuhing average for a rusher with at least 20 carries.<\/p>\n<p>***Simon Fraser had one last shot but was stopped on a fourth and five on an incomplete pass at the Cougar\u00a031 with 1:07 left.<\/p>\n<p>***Watson&#8217;s other scores came on\u00a0short runs of\u00a0one and two yards.<\/p>\n<p>***The Cougars had 508 total yards. Simon Fraser had 475.<\/p>\n<p>***APU quarterback Dasmen Stewart\u00a0was\u00a08 of 24 for 171 yards and an interception.<\/p>\n<p>***Simon Fraser led 10-3 after one and\u00a0and 23-3 at halftime when\u00a0Chris Tolbert scored on runs of one and two yards in the second quarter.\u00a0Tolbert had four touchdowns on the night.<\/p>\n<p>***Jamie Cacciatore booted three field goals for Azusa Pacific\u00a0\u00a0including a 45 yarder in the fourth quarter that tied the game at 30.<\/p>\n<p>***Tolbert had 34 carries for 174 yards for Simon Fraser. Quarterback Ryan Stanford completed 22 of 44 for 250 yards, one\u00a0touchdown and an interception.<\/p>\n<p>***There were 46 points scored in the fourth quarter combined-31 by APU.<\/p>\n<p>***&#8221;My role is small.\u00a0The linemen did a great job and my job is easy compared to them. In the second half we knew we had to come out and play.\u00a0It&#8217;s a blessing to be here. I love this school,&#8221; said Watson.<\/p>\n<p>***&#8221;It shows a lot of who he is as a person; he will do whatever\u00a0it takes for this team to win. We talked about sacrifice at halftime and he took it to heart. He gave everything,&#8221; said APU HC\u00a0Victor Santa Cruz\u00a0on Watson.<\/p>\n<p>***&#8221;It goes down as one of my top two games with the game against Central Washington last year as being number one. It&#8217;s just a great win. To come back\u00a0that way and see our guys&#8230;the heart&#8230;it was awesome. They could have folded if they wanted ot but they&#8217;re champions\u00a0and I believe that,&#8221;\u00a0Santa Cruz said.<\/p>\n<p>***After APU tied the score at 30 with\u00a06:09 left Simon Fraser responded 45 seconds later on a 51 yard TD pass from Stanford to Bobby Brocky to take a 36-30 advantage.
