(San Dimas)- Two Valle Vista League Opponents, Two shut outs.<\/p>\n
Coming off a 63-0 blanking of Ganesha, San Dimas took care of business again, but this time at home; putting a 35-0 goose egg on the board friday night against Covina in Valle Vista play.<\/span><\/p>\n The Saints, averaging 45 points a game, orchestrated a twelve-play scoring drive to start things. Sophomore quarterback Shawn Kennedy found Kevin Kolbeck in the end zone from 5-yards out to make it 7-0 with 6:44 left in the first quarter.<\/span><\/p>\n After forcing the Colts to punt, Kennedy’s second pass of the drive was picked off by Vinny Venegas, who made a diving interception to give Covina the ball back. <\/span><\/p>\n The Colts marched down field, getting within 10-yards of the goal line, but their 10-play 60 yard drive came to a halt after three consecutive sacks by the San Dimas defense, including a fourth and goal stand.<\/span><\/p>\n San Dimas\u2019s defense lived in the Covina backfield totaling seven sacks as a group. They have\u00a0allowed on average only 9.4 points per game on defense, including three shutouts.<\/span><\/p>\n “Hey, they’re the better team,” said Colts head coach Darryl Thomas. “And the the better team won tonight.”<\/span><\/p>\n Kennedy, who hooked up with tight end Juston Winrow for his second touchdown with 4:20 to play in the second, finished the night completing 6 of 10 pass attempts, two touchdowns and two interceptions. <\/span><\/p>\n Ryan Kohler, who currently leads the Saints in rushing and tackling, accounted for all three touchdowns on the ground.
