Nordhoff “Bad Dude” Koby Welch<\/p><\/div>\n

(We\u2019ve said it before. No second team, no third team, and we don\u2019t make someone an MVP to move them up and then slide someone else into their position. Lot of debate. In the end we realize we\u2019ve made a couple of people happy and a whole host of others very angry. Our choices, we stand by them.)<\/i><\/p>\n

OFFENSE<\/b><\/p>\n

Quarterback<\/span><\/p>\n

Chandler Whitbord–Oak Park<\/b><\/p>\n

(Honestly, probably one of the greatest seasons you\u2019ll ever see in high school football. 3,000 yards pass, 1,000 yards rushing. Off the charts. Names to remember in 2014: Eli Snyder (Maranatha) and Lars Nootbar (El Segundo).<\/em><\/p>\n

Running Back<\/span><\/p>\n

Donovan Davis–Ganesha<\/b><\/p>\n

Abel Gonzalez–Bishop Diego<\/b><\/p>\n

(Davis is overlooked because of where he plays…and, at least locally, so is Gonzalez.)<\/em><\/p>\n

Wide Receiver<\/span><\/p>\n

Matt Byer–Oak Park<\/b><\/p>\n

Jaime Stewart–El Segundo<\/b><\/p>\n

Jose Ochoa–La Puente<\/b><\/p>\n

(Ochoa had a great year, it was unanimous to put him on the team with Stewart and Byer. P.S. Check out Byer\u2019s stats…yes, they are real.)<\/em><\/p>\n

Offensive Line<\/span><\/p>\n

LT: Allen Rogers–Nordhoff<\/b><\/p>\n

LG: Brandon Myden–Oak Park<\/b><\/p>\n

C: Gabriel Rocha–El Segundo<\/b><\/p>\n

RG: Mario Soto–Santa Paula<\/b><\/p>\n

RT: Angel Villanueva–Duarte<\/b><\/p>\n

(Again these players are slotted where they played. The All CIF team had three left tackles, a guard, center, and tight end. Particularly happy with the Soto selection.)<\/em><\/p>\n

DE: Jabriel Frazier–Verbum Dei<\/b><\/p>\n

(Both the defensive ends and outside linebackers on the defense can rush either standing or with a hand in the dirt. Tooley a repeat from 2012.)<\/em><\/p>\n

OLB: Justin Green–Oak Park\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

ILB: Koby Welch–Nordhoff<\/b><\/p>\n
