At least baseball season is coming<\/p><\/div>\n

The first Sunday without football since last September came and went and it felt like…well…like the first Sunday without football since September.<\/p>\n

What did we have? Oklahoma City and the New York Knicks? Was there any doubt who would win this game? Kevin Durant dropped 41 on the Knicks in a 12 point victory- pretty much what everybody thought would happen. An NBA game in February is nearly unwatchable. Especially these days.<\/p>\n

There’s really only five teams that can win the NBA title. In the East there’s Miami and Indiana and in the West there’s the Clippers, San Antonio and Oklahoma City. And that’s it. It’s February 10 and we already know who the champion is going to be. By the way why do the Knicks get so much attention\u00a0when they’re such a mediocre team?<\/p>\n

After that ABC subjected us\u00a0to another barnburner-\u00a0Lakers-Bulls. Pau Gasol posted on his Twitter feed:\u00a0“I’ll be supporting our team from the bench\u00a0this afternoon. Let’s get our third straight win. #Go Lakers.”\u00a0Woo Hoo!\u00a0Three straight wins! That’s the kind of season it’s been for the Lakers.\u00a0The possibilty of three consecutive wins and\u00a0everybody is all excited.\u00a0Of course it didn’t happen.\u00a0Pau\u00a0watched the Lakers lose\u00a0and the joyous celebration of the winning streak was aborted.<\/p>\n

The Lakers\u00a0are done.\u00a0It’s time to look towards the 2014-’15\u00a0season. But as bad as they are, with all of the injuries, etc. Mike D’Antoni is\u00a0worse.\u00a0All year he has had Chris Kaman in the dog house. Now with the Lakers down to eight healthy players he has been forced to play Kaman and the center responded Sunday with 27\u00a0points and 10 rebounds.\u00a0Every time\u00a0Kaman has gotten minutes he has responded but D’Antoni contiuues\u00a0to\u00a0go with Robert Sacre\u00a0to back up\u00a0Gasol when he is healthy.<\/p>\n

The Lakers\u00a0need a point guard and a dominant center. They also need more help off the bench.\u00a0But first and foremost\u00a0they need a new coach. Magic Johnson was right.<\/p>\n

Of course if you got tired of basketball\u00a0you could have switched it over\u00a0to the Winter Olympics.\u00a0There was figure skating, cross country skiing, ski jumping, luge and\u00a0snowboarding. You know, all of those\u00a0sports that you could have cared less about\u00a0for the last four years\u00a0since the last\u00a0Olympics. It’s not that it’s that bad\u00a0but at one point when I tuned in\u00a0the announcer was going over\u00a0the top about Women’s Biathlon. The\u00a0contestants\u00a0would ski, stop pull out a rifle and shoot at targets, and\u00a0then ski some more.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0one of the women was crossing the\u00a0finish line, the announcer was screaming\u00a0that she had just\u00a0put herself in medal contention.\u00a0It’s just kind of hard to get\u00a0pumped up over an event that you have never heard of. The slopestyle snowboarding where Sage Kotsenburg of the United States won the Gold medal\u00a0was pretty cool. There was at least enough action to hold your attention.<\/p>\n

After a long day of basketball,\u00a0skiing and skating\u00a0I just had one question?\u00a0When does football start?<\/p>\n
