Kyle Leufroy and St. Francis glide into the finals<\/p><\/div>\n

(Pasadena)\u00a0– St. Francis\u00a0went on an 11-0 run in the fourth\u00a0quarter to take a lead it would never\u00a0relinquish\u00a0and went on to\u00a0beat La Canada 56-53 Friday night in the CIF Division 3A\u00a0semi final before a standing room only crowd\u00a0at Maranatha High School.<\/p>\n

St. Francis jumped out to a\u00a06-0 lead out of the gate but La Canada rallied to take a 13-10 advantage after one and led the whole game\u00a0until the Golden Knights\u00a0stormed ahead in the final quarter.\u00a0The Spartans went cold down the stretch and made only one field goal in the\u00a0fourth quarter while scoring just five points.<\/p>\n

***Grant Arthur led La Canada with 20 points overall including five three pointers but he was shut out in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n

***Arthur buried three consecutive threes in the second quarter as the Spartans took a 32-26 lead at the break.<\/p>\n

***La Canada maintained the six point lead through three quarters leading 48-42 heading into the fourth.<\/p>\n

***Dan Jung hit a three to open the fourth to give La Canada a 51-42 lead. But it was the only field goal of the fourth for LC and St. Francis took over.<\/p>\n

***Kyle Leufroy led all scorers with 22 points for St. Francis\u00a0including seven in the\u00a0decisive fourth.<\/p>\n

***Noah Willerford was also in double figures for the Golden Knights with 12.<\/p>\n

***Ko Ko Kurdoghlian followed up Arthur’s 20 with 13 for LC. Kurdoghlian was the only other Spartan to score in the fourth quarter with a pair of free throws.<\/p>\n

***La Canada nailed nine threes overall compared to four for\u00a0St. Frank’s –\u00a0two each by Leufroy and Willerford.<\/p>\n

***Former UCLA Coach Jim Harrick was on hand to watch the action.<\/p>\n

***The crowd was so loud\u00a0a ceiling tile broke loose and fell to the floor with 5:22 left in the second quarter causing a delay.<\/p>\n

***St. Francis outscored La Canada 14-5 in the fourth\u00a0quarter.<\/p>\n

***La Canada\u00a0won the Rio Hondo League with a perfect 10-0 record and\u00a0finished 23-7 overall.<\/p>\n

***St. Francis will face Oak Park March 7 in the Finals.<\/p>\n

***The game was supposed to\u00a0be at St. Francis but\u00a0was moved to Maranatha\u00a0to accomodate more fans.<\/p>\n
