Part of me thinks we don\u2019t appreciate the work of San Dimas\u2019s Tre Evans enough.<\/span><\/p>\n

On this date in 1989 Arroyo\u2019s Darren MacLellan scored six touchdowns on eight carries for 135-yards in the Knights 61-0 victory over El Monte. The Lions, who would finish the season 0-9, were held to minus five yards of total offense.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last Add El Monte: The last time another school dropped a 60-point bomb on EMHS was in 1976 when Temple City beat the Lions 61-7 in the only meeting ever between the schools. EM finished the season 0-9.<\/span><\/p>\n

Really Last Add El Monte: Since 1946 the only other time 60 was scored on the Lions came in 1966 when then HC Bill Samarin\u2019s team was hit by El Rancho 60-6. They finished 2-7 on the season, ending things with a 25-7 victory over Keppel. <\/span><\/p>\n

West Covina is only 4-4, but have you added up the overall record of the teams they\u2019ve lost to? Bishop Amat, El Rancho, Venice, South Hills are a combined 22-6. <\/span><\/p>\n

Westco owes its success HC Mike Maggiore, a great back in Ricky Johnson, a great defender in Maurice Dupleasis, and a quarterback named George Johnson.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since entering the Rio Hondo in 1982, Monrovia leads its series against South Pasadena 17-8-2. Speaking of Temple City: Twenty years ago tonight the Rams trounced Blair 41-13. What made the game interesting was Temple City faking a punt with a 27-point lead late in the fourth quarter. Then Vikings HC Gene Zeller told Rams HC Jim Walker he had nothing to say to him after the game was over. Walker said if Zeller had done some better coaching and hadn\u2019t left a receiver uncovered his punter wouldn\u2019t have thrown the ball. <\/span><\/p>\n

Zeller said things in football have a way of coming back to you. A year later at North Field in the final minutes the Vikings Frank Crockom picked off a Terry Fesler pass and returned it 78-yards for the game tying score.<\/span><\/p>\n

Funny how time and poor health can turn George Steinbrenner into a sympathetic figure.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wasn\u2019t he the most hated man in baseball only a few days ago?<\/span><\/p>\n

I like the Yankees in the series, because if its not going to be the Dodgers it should be the Yankees.<\/span><\/p>\n

And as long as its not the Angels or the Atlanta Braves of Georgia…I\u2019m good with that.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last Add Westco: The name we\u2019ve been whispered to keep an eye on in the future is sophomore Chris Solomon.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the record Blair, currently 0-7, has already suffered two winless seasons this decade.<\/span><\/p>\n

He got banged up early against Monrovia on Friday night, but Temple City cornerback Josh Simangunsong has had a solid season.<\/span><\/p>\n
