Kyle Brown to get the start at QB for the Chargers.<\/p><\/div>\n

Good Afternoon!<\/p>\n

The worm does definitely turn, it just takes some\u00a0time.<\/p>\n

After sitting behind Chris Allen last season, it looked like Kyle Brown would be the\u00a0quarterback<\/p>\n

this year at Charter Oak.<\/p>\n

Then again there was the ascension of the much talked about Josiah Thropay to consider and the transferring in of Travis Santiago.<\/p>\n

Where did Brown fit on the depth chart after the summer and through the first half of the season?<\/p>\n

Wide receiver.<\/p>\n

Serving as the third guy on the quarterback chart, Brown moved his 6’4″ 205-pound frame to receiver and has caught 12 passes for 141-yards.\u00a0Things have changed.<\/p>\n

Santiago is out because of a concussion, Thropay has a broken collar bone, so now its the senior Brown, with one incomplete pass under his belt, who will get his first start this Friday night against Wilson.<\/p>\n

I love this story, because its a great lesson about never quitting. It’s John Barnes, UCLA, 1992.<\/p>\n

I can’t root for CO over Brian Zavala and his Wilson team, but I can and will root for Kyle Brown Friday night.<\/p>\n

Note to Mid Valley Writers<\/strong><\/span>: WE DO NOT RECOGNIZE FORFEITS! When a team sneaks Barry Sanders into its backfield and wins, then we will recognize a forfeit. Not a clerical error. Hence, Arroyo beat Temple City at North Field in 2002 and Wilson still beat Glenn 35-14 this year…unless Barry Sanders lined up for Zavala and I don’t think he did.<\/p>\n

Our G-Stone is currently 5-2 and readying for a huge match with Workman which is also 5-2. The Lobos Kalin Bradford has been terrific this season, but the Gladiators have given up the fewest point of any Montview team. G-Men Sal Paris (11 sacks) and Joseph Herrera (75-tackles, 5 sacks) are having monster seasons.<\/p>\n

Have you seen Detroit’s Charlie Villanueva (no relation to our Andy Villathedevil)? The dude needs an eyebrow transplant…<\/p>\n

What happened to Bell Gardens’ defense? After giving up just 32 points in\u00a0their first three games, the\u00a0Lancers have given up 113 in their last three. This doesn’t include a\u00a042-0 week four loss to Santa Fe.<\/p>\n

On this date in 1971 Blair’s Lavelle Sanders (you can call him ‘Tip’) scored three touchdowns in the Vikings 20-0 victory over Burbank in old Foothill League action… On the same night Alhambra’s Danny Larson fired three touchdown passes in the Moors 51-14 rout of Muir, which included a 26-point second quarter… Pasadena’s Tom Hamilton threw two touchdown passes, one to NFL-bound Mario Clark for 40-yards in the Bulldogs 12-7 victory over Monrovia… On a night for quarterbacks, Temple City’s Bill Wilson went twice to Roger Brooks in the Rams 42-0 victory over then Rio Hondo League foe Bell Gardens. The victory improved TC to 2-0 in league, 6-0 on the season, and ran its winning streak 23 consecutive.<\/p>\n

Oh yeah, in a 28-7 victory over Covina dear departed Edgewood got a pair of touchdowns from running back Geb Church.<\/p>\n

La Canada goes to San Marino Friday and in 46 previous meetings the Titans hold a 28-15-13 advantage, but the Spartans give them a hard time at home. LC has won eight and tied three at Titan Stadium and have not lost there since 2003.<\/p>\n

Dan Yoder’s team\u00a0could beat them this season as well. Quarterback Rocky Moore has been lights out with 15 touchdown passes and over 1,400-yards through the air. If the Spartans strike quick it could be a long night in Titanville.<\/p>\n

Northview needs a win, but its not getting it against Baldwin Park.<\/p>\n

Since Halloween is almost here what\u00a0if there was a Zombie League, for deceased high schools, who would be in it? Edgewood, of course…probably Pater Noster, Neff, Excelsior, Royal Oak…who else?<\/p>\n
