The KISS snapped an eight game\u00a0losing streak with the victory improving to 3-9 while the\u00a0Thunder fell to 3-10.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The KISS, who have a made a habit of falling behind early this year, jumped on the Thunder first this time.\u00a0Donovan Morgan\u00a0hauled\u00a0in\u00a0a five-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Garcia on the\u00a0opening possession. Matt Estrada then recovered a\u00a0Thunder fumble on the next series and bolted five yards for a touchdown.\u00a0Shout it out loud it was 14-0 KISS less than five minutes into the contest.<\/p>\n<p>Portland responded\u00a0on the next series when Kyle Rowley\u00a0fired a\u00a034-yard strike to Alvance Robinson for a touchdown. But the KISS punched back\u00a0on a two yard run by\u00a0quarterback Kenny Guiton, who stepped in for Garcia and\u00a0ran out of the wildcat. The Rowley-Robinson connection worked again for a ten-yard score on\u00a0Portland&#8217;s next possession and the\u00a0 KISS was up 21-13 after one.<\/p>\n<p>Morgan\u00a0made the play of the game on the KISS&#8217; next possession when he one handed a Garcia pass and\u00a0held on\u00a0while falling over the barrier and disappearing\u00a0behind the end zone for a touchdown and a\u00a028-13 lead. On the ensuing kick Beau Bell fell on a\u00a0Thunder fumble in the endzone for the fifth KISS touchdown of the night.<\/p>\n<p>Portland looked buried down 35-13 but fought back to climb back in it. Rowley\u00a0hit Braylon Bell for a seven yard score. On the ensuing series,\u00a0Garcia, while being sacked\u00a0threw a wounded duck into the waiting arms of Bryce Perila, who skipped three yards into the endzone.<\/p>\n<p>Garcia was interecepted again on the following series and the Thunder took\u00a0advantage\u00a0when Darron Thomas capped a\u00a0drive with a three\u00a0yard touchdown run with\u00a016 seconds left in the second quarter.\u00a0The KISS answered\u00a0with a\u00a0touchdown pass from Garcia to Samora Goodson\u00a0to close out the half and take a\u00a042-33 lead at the break.<\/p>\n<p>In the fourth quarter Goodson got loose again\u00a020-yard TD reception from Garcia\u00a0and Estrada scored twice on the ground from six\u00a0yards and a yard out.\u00a0Eric Rogers caught two touchdown passes from Rowley to keep the Thunder within striking distance, but the KISS recovered two onside kicks\u00a0to secure the win.<\/p>\n<p>Goodson, who played for the Thunder earlier this year, had 11 receptions for 171 yards and\u00a0two touchdowns. Moragan had eight for\u00a063 while Garcia\u00a0threw for 289\u00a0 yards and\u00a0five scores.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We can&#8217;t have any more excuses.\u00a0We just need to step up and play,&#8221; Goodson said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Usually I\u00a0step up and make big plays but tonight this guy did.\u00a0He just had a great game,&#8221; Morgan said of Goodson.\u00a0&#8220;We just have to continue to believe. Our guys believed tonight and it showed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m proud of the way we played\u00a0tonight. We played the whole game,&#8221; said KISS HC Bob McMillen. &#8220;We still have a\u00a0long second half of the season to go but we\u00a0took a huge step tonight.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Rogers was the go to guy for\u00a0Portland\u00a0with 10 catches for 144 yards and four touchdowns.\u00a0Rowley was 25 of 38 for 362 yards and\u00a0seven scores.<\/p>\n<p>Next week the\u00a0KISS hits the road for Arizona as they try to stay alive for a playoff berth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Anaheim) &#8211; The LA KISS jumped out to a 14-0 advantage, and never relinquished the lead in a 69-61 win over Portland Saturday night at Honda Center.
