For Sierra Canyon HC Jon Ellinghouse, who developed a migraine before kick-off, six touchdowns and solid defense in the season opener worked just fine as the Trailblazers torched San Fernando 42-14 on Thursday night at Kevin Williams Stadium.

The City Section champion Tigers came in with an 18 game winning streak but were never in this one. Sierra Canyon’s Eric Markes scored in the first quarter before Josh Cole and sophomore quarterback Niko Harris added scoring runs to make it 21-7 at the half.

Cole scored twice more in the third and Harris went 56-yards to Dylan Tait to finish the SC scoring. San Fernando’s Alex Gonzalez added 1-yard run to dress up the loss.

***”I thought for a first game we have a good looking team, it was exciting, I saw a lot of things I liked.
