{"id":40770,"date":"2014-08-29T19:04:36","date_gmt":"2014-08-30T02:04:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=40770"},"modified":"2017-06-10T10:32:09","modified_gmt":"2017-06-10T17:32:09","slug":"alhambra-0-arcadia-0-1st-qtr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=40770","title":{"rendered":"Big Plays Belong to Arcadia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Matt Schuler<\/p>\n<p>(Arcadia)\u2013 Arcadia returned two interceptions for touchdowns and added four more offensive scores on the way to a 40-0 shut out victory over visiting Alhambra in Friday night\u2019s season opener at Salter Stadium.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The pair of interceptions turned touchdowns in the second quarter by Nico Hillier and Josh Benson were daggers to the heart of the Moors as the Apaches lead jumped from 13 to 28-0.<\/p>\n<p>Hillier, the team\u2019s quarterback, connected with Anthony Hutchinson on a 58-yard bomb for a 34-0 lead mid way through the third.\u00a0 Bradley Mills capped off the scoring barrage with a 2-yard reception with 8:59 to play in the fourth.<\/p>\n<p>***Both Apache interceptions to taken to the house from beyond mid-field.<\/p>\n<p>***Benson scored on a short rush following a squib kick recovery, making it 13-0 with 4:50 remaining in the first.<\/p>\n<p>***Alhambra\u2019s Ezekiel Rodriguez put a big hit defensive hit on Mills, who later returned to score a touchdown and add a two-point conversion.<\/p>\n<p>***The physical contest was rough on the refs as well.
