(Photo by Andrew Bettridge)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>By Rich Whittington<\/p>\n<p>(Pasadena)- The Muir Mustangs outscored, outran, and out gained the visiting Burroughs Indians, 42-14, in a battle of big plays on Friday evening at Muir High School.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Six of the first seven scores occurred on plays of 31 yards or longer.<\/p>\n<p>Burroughs opened the scoring when running back Aidan Anding scored the first of his two touchdowns on a two yard run with 8:55 to play in the opening quarter. This score was set up on the previous play, a 72-yard rushing gain by running back Michael Ospina. Anding\u2019s second score was an 84-yard run with 7:34 remaining in the first.<\/p>\n<p>Muir proved to also be proficient with the \u201cBig Score\u201d. Muir combined a potent air attack with a solid ground game to provide five touchdowns of over 30 yards. Muir\u2019s scoring began when Chase Keough connected with running back Jonathan Stephens for a 58-yard score to tie the game at seven.<\/p>\n<p>Keough went on to connect with tight end Brian Reyes (58-yards), Taeon Mason (54- yards), and Devin Leagons (31-yards). Mason added an 88-yard kickoff return to paydirt. Muir\u2019s final score of the evening cane with 1:34 remaining in regulation, when reserve running back Skylar White scored on a 10-yard run.<\/p>\n<p>***Muir QB Chase Keough: 13 of 15 for 326 yards and four touchdowns\u2026in three quarters of work.<br \/>\n***Muir WR Taeon Mason: 142 yards- 54 receiving, 88 rushing<br \/>\n***Burroughs Aidan Anding: 126 total yards and two touchdowns<br \/>\n***Burroughs RB Chance Bell- 24 carries for 123 yards.<br \/>\n***The score at halftime: Muir 35- Burroughs 14<br \/>\n***Penalties: Muir 12-100, Burroughs 4-25<br \/>\n***The game only had three possessions in excess of five plays.<br \/>\n***Muir\u2019s next opponent- Burbank Bulldogs @Muir 7:00PM 10\/10\/14<br \/>\n***Burroughs\u2019 next contest-Hoover Tornadoes @Glendale HS 7:00PM 10\/10\/14<\/p>\n<p>(Writers Side Note: \u201cMuir challenged the MVS Mojo\u2026The charged me for parking, but still got the win.
