Bell Gardens got the ball first in OT but failed to convert a field goal. On third and two Oiler head coach Pete Gonzales\u00a0called on Lozano and he delivered with the winning kick in a rainstorm. \u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Lozano, who is getting Division 1 looks,\u00a0also kicked a 51-yard field goal on Montebello&#8217;s first possession for a 3-0 lead.\u00a0His boot\u00a0proved to be the difference as he also nailed one from 28 yards out with two seconds left in the second quarter.\u00a0Montebello couldn&#8217;t get much going however in the first half trailing 14-6at the half.<\/p>\n<p>Montebello came out smoking in the second half\u00a0scoring in its first two possessions. The Oilers also led\u00a028-21 in the fourth before BG rallied to tie and force overtime.<\/p>\n<p>***Jordan Preciado gave Bell Gardens a 7-3 lead on a four-yard run early in the second quarter.\u00a0An Oiler fumble led\u00a0to another BG score- a 19-yard bolt up the middle by Erick Galicia with 1:19 left to give BG a 14-3 advantage.<\/p>\n<p>***Josiah Quiroga scored on a three- yard run for Montebello to open the third quarter and Andy Brown ran in the two-point conversion\u00a0to tie the game.<\/p>\n<p>***Oiler quarterback Ryan Rivera rushed for\u00a0110 yards on 14 carries including a 39-yard jaunt that set up the first score in the second half.<\/p>\n<p>***Isaac Mendibles ran for 96 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries for Montebello. He also caught a swing pass from Rivera for 58 yards that led to the go ahead touchdown.<\/p>\n<p>***Manuel Contreras&#8217;\u00a045-yard\u00a0TD reception from Jordan Cardenas got the Lancers even at 21.<\/p>\n<p>***Charlie Zuniga hauled in a 21-yard pass from Rivera to give the Oilers the lead at\u00a028-21 early in the fourth.<\/p>\n<p>***&#8221;Yeah we had a had a little talk at halftime,&#8221; said Montebello DC Brian Zavala when asked\u00a0the difference between the first and second halves.<\/p>\n<p>***Cardenas threw for 130 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 40 yards for BG.<\/p>\n<p>***Montebello improved to 4-0 in league with the victory\u00a0and clinched the Almont title.\u00a0The Oilers have Alhambra next week.<\/p>\n<p>***BG fell to 3-1 in the Almont but\u00a0has a hold on second place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Tim Peterson (Montebello) &#8211;\u00a0Enrique Lozano booted a\u00a035-yard field goal in overtime to give Montebello a 31-28\u00a0win over Bell Gardens Friday night.
