If this was always the Cardinals team as it should be, this would be easy. Both teams are talented, both are huge risks. Eagles quarterback Bradley Mowbray and receiver Matt Thompson have connected for 14 touchdowns, but Cantwell has the talent on the edges to eliminate that threat. Close, but we’re going to go with the home team.
CalPreps Prediction: Arrowhead Christian 28 Cantwell 24
MVS Prediction: Cantwell 28 Arrowhead Christian 17

Valley Christian (7-3) at Linfield Christian (6-4)
The Lions have run off four straight wins and a somewhat inconsistent offense has been aided by an opportunistic defense. The remedy for the Crusaders is simple and terribly cliche; take care of the ball. Lean on Jonathan Nicholson and the 1,311 yards/18 touchdowns he accumulated this season.
CalPreps Prediction: Linfield Christian 22 Valley Christian 21
MVS Prediction: Valley Christian 28 Linfield Christian 14

Mission Prep (4-6) at Maranatha (10-0)
If the Royals pull this off it will be the equivalent of the Titanic striking the iceberg. In another year, last or maybe next, this would be a classic. In this year, 2014, it’s a blowout. MP will take risks and if they payoff it could be different, but that’s a long shot. Minutemen playing Minutemen football take this one.
CalPreps Prediction: Maranatha 38 Mission Prep 19
MVS Prediction: Maranatha 45 Mission Prep 14

Bishop Montgomery (5-5) at Nipomo (6-4)
It’s great the Knights made the playoffs, it’s great they get to go on a road trip to one of the best climates in the world…Maybe they can even get a bite to eat at Tahoe Joe’s…But their fate is more ordained than a Shakesperean tragedy.
CalPreps Prediction: Nipomo 42 Bishop Montgomery 7
MVS Prediction: Nipomo 49 Bishop Montgomery 7

Pasadena Poly (10-0) vs. Morro Bay (5-5) at South Pasadena
First instinct is to say Panthers, but we got questions. The first one being when was the last time they took a punch? The Pirates have been fighting for their post season life since midseason. Every Friday night for a month has been a playoff game. We like the upset.
CalPreps Prediction: Pasadena Poly 28 Morro Bay 26
MVS Prediction: Morro Bay 31 Pasadena Poly 14

Notre Dame-Riverside (6-4) at Shadow Hills (8-2)
NDR started fast, faded, and then creaked back into the playoffs. Like Bishop Montgomery they are going to get a trip north and visit a beautiful stadium right off the 101. If they want to stop for dinner I recommend Sylvester’s in Atascadero (the Beef Palace in Templeton might be a little pricey)…they have a great buffalo burger with blue cheese. We have a hard time seeing the Eagles folding at home after working so hard to come out on top in the Northern League. They are not a great team, but all they need to be on Friday is good.
CalPreps Prediction: Templeton 28 Heritage Christian 21
MVS Prediction: Templeton 33 Heritage Christian 14

Saturday, November 15th

Big Bear (8-2) vs. Rio Hondo Prep (4-5) at Big Bear Middle School 1:30pm
We’ve got mad respect for the Kares and what they’ve achieved through a lot of adversity, but they are outmatched against the Bears heavy cavalry.
CalPreps Prediction: Big Bear 28 Rio Hondo Prep 21
MVS Prediction: Big Bear 35 Rio Hondo Prep 7

By Joe Torosian (Start times vary, but assume all games start at 7:PM and you’ll be fine)

[12816

post-44711","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-hsfootball
["GET
