While most teams have that one guy, that one featured back, like Azusa’s Kendrec McDade, that carries the load, San Dimas throws three or four guys at you that are all equally impressive.

Tre Evans, Ryan Kohler, Dillon Corona, and now even Jordan Taylor, who had a 30 yard touchdown run last week, can all wreak havoc on opposing defenses. The Saints piled up over 300 yards rushing last week in the win over Valley Christian.

McDade has been the man for the Aztecs. He hits the hole fast and once he’s through it he’s gone. John Chavez can make the throws when he has to. Azusa has proven the Montview critics wrong with a big win over San Marino last week.

The Aztecs will compete again but in the end the Saints will wear them down. You can’t stop that ground game forever. Saints advance to the finals.

San Dimas 31 Azusa 13

Saturday December 5

Whittier Christian (9-3, Olympic # 3) at Monrovia (12-0, Rio Hondo, #1)

Common Opponents 2009: Monrovia 14 Paraclete 3, Paraclete 12 Whittier Christian 0

Monrovia passed the Olympic League exam last week with a huge win in Lancaster over Paraclete. It stands to reason that the Wildcats will take care of the third place team in the Olympic at home.

While Nick Bueno, De’Shawn Ramirez and Derrick Johnson have ignited the offense, the defense has been standing tall the last few weeks. Kizz Prusia, Ellis McCarthy, Josh Lowden and DuJawn Jones have been putting on the hits.

With that being said, Whittier Christian can’t be overlooked. Just ask Arroyo or Baldwin Park how good the Heralds are. Garrett Fulbright, (one L), has been running over, around and through opponents all year for over 1500 yards. The running attack makes things go.

The question is have they faced a defense the caliber of Monrovia’s? Paraclete is the common denominator and WC failed to score in that game. It’s been a nice run for Whittier Christian but it ends here. Monrovia gets it done. I can see the Olympic league fans lighting up the message boards already.

Monrovia 24 Whittier Christian 10

Game times are 7:30 PM unless otherwise indicated Friday December 4 Azusa (11-1, Montview # 1) at San Dimas (11-1, Valle Vista # 1) All-Time: San Dimas 9-5

[3
723,978,922,750,1491,1088,718,238,1089,209,720,719
post-4548","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-high-school-sports","tag-bill-zernickow","tag-deshawn-ramirez","tag-derrick-johnson","tag-ellis-mccarthy","tag-garrett-fulbright","tag-john-chavez","tag-jordan-taylor","tag-josh-lowden","tag-kendrec-mcdade","tag-nick-bueno","tag-ryan-kohler","tag-tre-evans
["GET
