After careful consideration and prayer, I&#8217;ve decided that I&#8217;m going to forgo my senior year and enter the 2015 NFL draft.\u00a0This was an extremely difficult decision but it&#8217;s best for my family and myself.\u00a0I will always be grateful\u00a0for the opportunities the Bruin Nation has presented me athletically and academically. Thank you all and Go Bruins!&#8221;\u00a0McCarthy\u00a0posted on his Twitter feed.<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy, 6-5, 325, did not start any games this past season and\u00a0started eight games in his three years with the Bruins, all in 2013.\u00a0McCarthy, who has struggled with knee injuries\u00a0during his college career, was backing up sophomores\u00a0Kenny Clark and Eddie Vanderdoes in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>In 2013\u00a0McCarthy had 31 tackles, including two for a loss in what proved to be his best season.
