Who’s this freak with Peterson?<\/p><\/div>\n

If Chris Johnson wasn’t done before, he almost certainly is now. Johnson was shot early Sunday morning in the shoulder while he was a passenger in a vehicle where one person was killed.<\/p>\n

Johnson is in stable condition after being shot in the shoulder. There was a minimal market for Johnson already after he had a less than stellar season last year. Now his suitors may be down to zero. What is it that they say? Nothing good ever happens when you’re out 4:00 in the morning.<\/p>\n

When LeSean McCoy, the league’s leading rusher in 2013, gets traded for a linebacker that missed an entire season due to an injury, you know it’s a quarterbacks league. Now with Buffalo agreeing to sign McCoy for $40 million over five years, you have to wonder if the Bills aren’t grossly overpaying for the running back.<\/p>\n

Speaking of big bucks, Ndamukong Suh is going to hit the lottery in Miami. The defensive tackle is set to sign with the Dolphins for $114 million over six years with $60 million guaranteed. The Detroit Lions, his former team, were said to be in the hunt to retain Suh, but Miami’s offer just blew them out of the water. This might be just the move that could take the Dolphins\u00a0to that next level.<\/p>\n

So the Chargers, Raiders and Rams are now all in play as teams that will potentially move to Los Angeles. I’d prefer the Rams but I could live with the Chargers. The Raiders? No thanks. It’s not so much the element that the Raiders bring it’s just that they seem recycled – like yesterday’s news. And although all of these stadium proposals are the strongest yet to surface over the last 20 years, I’m still of the mind that I’ll believe it when I see it.<\/p>\n

One championship down, another one to go? Maranatha wrapped up a CIF title last Friday night with a 59-53 win over Campbell Hall, now the Minutemen embark on a new adventure. They open up the State Tournament Wednesday night at home against Pacific Ridge.<\/p>\n

With 27,000 fans jammed into the StubHub Center Friday night, it was more evident than ever that MLS and the players union would have made a fatal mistake if they allowed a strike to wipe out the opening weekend or any part of the season. Galaxy Coach Bruce Arena touched on it after LA’s 2-0 win over Chicago. \u201cI don’t think we could have received the type of support we need if there was a strike and the season was delayed. I think it’s important that we got the season started on time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Correction: In a previous story posted on Mid Valley Sports it was reported that the 605 All-Star game will be played on June 6. The game is Friday night, June 5. Darn typos!<\/p>\n
