Former South El Monte HC Ibis Aguilar lands at Bonita as an assistant<\/p><\/div>\n

(La Verne) – Former South El Monte head\u00a0coach Ibis Aguilar has found a new home. He is now an assistant coach at Bonita.<\/p>\n

“I’m excited about it. It’s an excellent staff and\u00a0a great place to work,”\u00a0Aguilar said. “I’ve lived in the area\u00a0for about ten years and I know Coach (Adrian) Medrano and the\u00a0entire staff. It’s a great fit for me.”<\/p>\n

Aguilar was let go by South El Monte\u00a0after the Eagles finished 3-7 last year and missed the playoffs.\u00a0Aguilar is looking to be a head coach again but for now is happy with the opportunity at Bonita.\u00a0He will be the receivers coach and help\u00a0Medrano with the offense.<\/p>\n

“I definitely want to be a head coach again but for now I’m going to work here\u00a0for the next\u00a0couple of seasons and then see what’s out there.\u00a0I wanted to take a step back from being a head\u00a0coach\u00a0for now\u00a0and take a look at things,” Aguilar added.<\/p>\n

The Bearcats advanced to the semi finals of the Central Division playoffs last season where they lost to\u00a0Los Altos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
