1.San Dimas, 14-0 on the season, opens\u00a0Valle Vista League play against Northview\u00a0on April 14.<\/p>\n

2. Kentucky\u00a0head coach\u00a0John Calipari says as many as seven\u00a0of his players could leave for the NBA.<\/p>\n

3. New England Patriots running back\u00a0LeGarrette Blount\u00a0is suspended without pay for\u00a0the 2015 regular season opener for violation of the league’s substance abuse policy. While with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Blount was arrested along with RB Le’Veon Bell on August 20 when police found about three fourths of an ounce\u00a0of marijuana in Bell’s car during a traffic stop.\u00a0 Bell is expected to be suspended for at least two games for the incident.<\/p>\n

4. UCLA’s Kevon Looney\u00a0announces he is leaving school for the NBA draft.<\/p>\n

5. Lisa Leslie, John Calipari,\u00a0Spencer Haywood, Dick Bavetta, Jo Jo White, Tom Heinsohn, Dikembe Mutombo, George Raveling, Louis Dampier and\u00a0Lindsay Gaze are\u00a0all elected to the basketball Hall of Fame. John Isaacs will be inducted posthumously.<\/p>\n

10. On this day in 1974 Henry Aaron hit his 715th home run\u00a0off of Dodger pitcher Al Downing to break\u00a0Babe Ruth’s then career record of 714.<\/p>\n
