(Photo by Duane Barker)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>By Tim Peterson<\/p>\n<p>(Anaheim) &#8211; Danny Southwick&#8217;s pass was intercepted at the three -yard line with no time remaining and the LA KISS fell to the Jacksonville Sharks 41-35 Sunday before 8,235 at Honda Center. It was the ninth consecutive loss for the KISS.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The\u00a0KISS\u00a0got the ball back after making a stop\u00a0with 37 seconds left in the game and moved it down to the 20 yard line. But the Sharks&#8217; Greg Reid pulled down Southwick&#8217;s pass to end it.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_48236\" style=\"width: 530px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_1884.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-48236\" class=\"size-large wp-image-48236\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/IMG_1884-638x768.jpg\" alt=\"The Los Angeles Kiss defense got a couple of stops but the offense could not capitalize.\" width=\"520\" height=\"625\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-48236\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Los Angeles Kiss defense got a couple of stops but the offense could not capitalize.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The KISS found themselves down 21-0 right away. First\u00a0Jacksonville&#8217;s Tommy Grady threw a\u00a040 yard touchdown pass\u00a0to Anthony Jones. On the opening KISS possession, Alvin Ray Jackson picked off\u00a0Southwick and returned it 25 yards for a score.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The jack linebacker looked like he was originally moving left but then my vision was blocked. He was out of my sight,&#8221; Southwick said. &#8220;It was a bad decision on my part.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After another four and out by the KISS\u00a0the Sharks went up\u00a021-0 on\u00a0a seven yard scoring strike from Grady to Joe Hills.<\/p>\n<p>The KISS finally got on the board in the\u00a0second quarter on a two-yard run by JT Gilmore but the Sharks marched right back down the field\u00a0and scored on a Ray McNeil one -yard run.<\/p>\n<p>DeMarco Sampson responds for the KISS with a\u00a0four yard TD run and after a Jacksonville field goal attempt fails the KISS\u00a0go into the break down 28-14.<\/p>\n<p>The KISS took the\u00a0opening kick\u00a0in the second half and scored on a five-yard touchdown pass from Southwick to JT Gilmore to cut it to 28-21.<\/p>\n<p>But Jacksonville answers with a one-yard touchdown run by Derrick Ross\u00a0a 35-21 advantage.<\/p>\n<p>Donovan &#8220;Captain&#8221; Morgan pulled\u00a0in a one handed grab and\u00a0sprinted\u00a017 yards into the end zone late in the third quarter.<\/p>\n<p>The KISS then had a\u00a0golden opportunity to get even when\u00a0Ter&#8217;Ran\u00a0Benton picked off\u00a0 a pass but the\u00a0offense failed to\u00a0convert going four and out. Jacksonville\u00a0maintained a 35-28 lead.<\/p>\n<p>The KISS\u00a0defense again made a\u00a0stop on the ensuing possession but the offense couldn&#8217;t\u00a0take advantage and gave up the\u00a0the ball on downs.<\/p>\n<p>The Sharks then capitalized when Ross broke off a 24-yard touchdown run for a 41-28 lead. The extra point failed.<\/p>\n<p>A long kick off returns sets up the KISS and\u00a0Morgan hauled in a eight-yard\u00a0TD pass from Southwick\u00a0and suddenly LA was\u00a0down only six with 2:00 left.<\/p>\n<p>The stop set up the chance to win it but\u00a0the KISS was stopped in the final seconds.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m excited to look at the tape. I want to see the tape and see what adjustments we can make and we&#8217;ll get ready for Portland,&#8221; said KISS Head Coach Bob McMillen.<\/p>\n<p>Southwick completed 27 of 46 for 245 yards and three touchdowns for LA. He was hurt by the two interceptions. DeMarco Sampson caught\u00a011 passes for 104 yards.
