Former\u00a0Oakland Raiders\u00a0quarterback Kenny Stabler\u00a0passed away from cancer Wednesday at the age of 69.\u00a0Stabler\u00a0played for the Raiders\u00a0from 1970- 1979 leading them to a win over Minnesota in Super Bowl XI.\u00a0Stabler\u00a0won the NFL MVP award in 1974 and played in four Pro Bowls.\u00a0He played two years with Houston and three with New Orleans\u00a0before retiring after the 1984 season.<\/p>\n

2. California prosecutors have charged former San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears defensive tackle Ray McDonald with domestic violence and felony false imprisonment. The allegations include\u00a0McDonald assaulting his ex-fianc\u00e9e while she held their 2-month-old child.<\/p>\n

3. Zach Greinke\u00a0throws eight scoreless\u00a0innings and allows just one hit in the Dodgers 6-0 win over the Phillies. Greinke has now\u00a0 gone 35 2\/3 innings without allowing a run.<\/p>\n

7. The Miami Marlins’ Jose Fernandez tied the modern record for most consecutive home victories\u00a0by a starter to begin a career as he improved to 14-0 at Marlins Park\u00a0with a 2-0 win over the Reds.<\/p>\n
