Right off the Top:<\/strong> I\u2019ve bought into some of the Sabermetric\/Moneyball stuff, but honestly seeing Josh Donaldson swing the bat for the Toronto Blue Jays makes me laugh when it comes to the alleged genius the Oakland A\u2019s and General Manager Billy Beane. He\u2019s only making $4-million, the A\u2019s are so broke they couldn\u2019t have milked another year out of him?<\/p>\n

The party is over in the east bay, they might not have gone to a World Series but at least got a movie made.<\/p>\n

As I continue to play catch up with the prep football world I still can\u2019t buy Pomona\u2019s decision to move Darreon Lockett out of the quarterback spot to slot receiver\/running back…I hope it works for them, but if I\u2019m a defensive coordinator game planning for the Red Devils I\u2019m really happy Lockett is not handling the ball 100 percent of the time.<\/p>\n

As of today the New York Mets are two games up in the National League East. Have I mentioned that I\u2019ve always been a Mets fan?<\/p>\n

I said it on Tuesday\u2019s show…I\u2019m willing to put pizza on the line and say San Marino upsets Monrovia this year…Which is a big deal considering the Wildcats have not lost a Rio Hondo League game since 2007.<\/p>\n

Put yourself down for a slice of said pizza if you can tell me who beat M-Town in \u201907 without going to MaxPreps or CalPreps to cheat.<\/p>\n

Who\u2019s numbers are falling faster the ratings for \u201cI am Cait\u201d or Joc Pederson\u2019s batting average?<\/p>\n

I probably owe this to the Downey fans after reaching for their clicks yesterday…but I\u2019ve believed this since last December…The Vikings are primed to go right back to the finals again this season.<\/p>\n

In the process of catching up I got this note: \u201cSt. Francis & Miles Bryant!\u201d<\/p>\n

Did you know the the last time the Wilson Wildcats had a non-losing season was in 2007 when they went 6-6 under Robert Oviedo who had a pretty good running back in Tim Gilmore. Gilmore, a junior, rushed for 1,978 yards and 22 touchdowns (29 total) that season.<\/p>\n

Wilson has not had a winning season since going 10-3 in 2003.<\/p>\n

Almost Last Add Oakland A’s: I keep thinking if Tom Lasorda was managing this team and Al Campanis was the GM, Tommy when asked about Donaldson would say: “Ain’t my f-bombing fault, Campanis he’s the f-bombing guy!”<\/em><\/p>\n

The memories of previous seasons are still coming…So to name a few more.<\/p>\n

What comes to mind?<\/p>\n

La Canada beating Temple City in the California Tie-Breaker in 2009 at South Pasadena. After trading touchdowns the Spartans went for two and quarterback Rocky Moore found Michael Arkfeld for the winner and a trip to the playoffs.<\/p>\n

On the same night (11\/13\/2009), while La Canada was beating South Pasadena, San Marino was at home getting a Herculean effort from Stevie Yortsos (3 Tds) in a 19-14 victory over Temple City. The Titans win forced the Rams into the Tie-Breaker with LC.<\/p>\n

El Monte running back Christian Russo.<\/p>\n

Rosemead running back Matt Fregoso (11\/19\/2010) rushing for 342 yards and seven touchdowns against Temple City in the first round of the playoffs.<\/p>\n

Speaking of Rosemead: Anything by Tra Sumler<\/p>\n

Arroyo\u2019s Efrain Oquendo putting the wood to Rosemead\u2019s Deon Sumler in 2003.<\/p>\n

Whittier Christian\u2019s Grant Escobar crashes into the end zone for a two-point conversion (12\/3\/2010) to give the Heralds a 43-42 victory over Village Christian and birth in the CIF Finals…I was listening on the phone in the San Dimas parking lot as Peterson gave me a live action call.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a bad man, he\u2019s a very bad man.\u201d—Duarte HC Wardell Crutchfield Jr. on tailback Chris Harris (9\/2\/2005) after the sophomore led the Falcons to a season opening victory over Marshall.<\/p>\n

Rosemead Again: Edward McMillon decleating Mornovia\u2019s Jermele Barnes on a punt return in the Panthers 2003 victory at Monrovia.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a tough Mexican League.\u201d—Alhambra HC Gil Ruedaflores on the Almont League in 2009.<\/p>\n

I can do this all day…And this is just what I\u2019ve seen…Haven\u2019t asked anybody else about the memories they have.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0regards to<\/strong> former Bonita running back Giamani Johnson: He turns 22 today.<\/p>\n

In regards to<\/strong> Sabermetics\/Moneyball being responsible for the Boston Red Sox 2004 World Series title: I think having Curt Schilling and Pedro Martinez had more to do with it than Bill James…And if Billy Beane had entered a post-season with Schilling and Martinez he\u2019d be wearing a World Series ring now.<\/p>\n

In regards to<\/strong> Nelson Cruz: Actually saw the Seattle outfielder get a hit that wasn\u2019t a home run. I didn\u2019t think it was possible.<\/p>\n

In regards to<\/strong> San Dimas: I think it\u2019s too soon to shovel dirt on the Saints grave.<\/p>\n

In regards to<\/strong> 15 in a row: That\u2019s the number of games Crescenta Valley has won consecutively dating back to 2013.<\/p>\n
