It was the first touchdown pass of his college career.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_50348\" style=\"width: 530px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/new.midvalleysports.com\/?attachment_id=50348\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-50348\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-50348\" class=\"size-large wp-image-50348\" src=\"http:\/\/new.midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/kurt-scoby-apu-dixie-628x768.jpg\" alt=\"Another day at the office for Kurt Scoby- Four touchdowns \" width=\"520\" height=\"636\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-50348\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Another day at the office for Kurt Scoby- Four touchdowns<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A blocked punt set up the Cougars again at the Dixie State 45.\u00a0They immediately took\u00a0advantage when Scoby busted loose again for\u00a0a 24-yard touchdown run and the Cougars\u00a0were\u00a0cruising 28-0.<\/p>\n<p>Red Storm quarterback Tyson Blackner scored on a seven-yard run with 40 seconds left in the first half to get Dixie State on the board but then made a critical mistake. Instead of booting it deep they attempted an onside kick and\u00a0the Cougars recover at the 45.\u00a0Elffers cashed in\u00a0with a\u00a029-yard touchdown pass to\u00a0Blake Robertson with seven seconds left\u00a0in the half to make\u00a0it 35-7.<\/p>\n<p>Scoby already\u00a0had\u00a0114 yards rushing\u00a0at the half and\u00a0Elffers was\u00a05 of 7 for\u00a096 yards and two scores.\u00a0He threw an interception early in the contest but then seemed to settle in.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_50349\" style=\"width: 530px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/new.midvalleysports.com\/?attachment_id=50349\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-50349\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-50349\" class=\"size-large wp-image-50349\" src=\"http:\/\/new.midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/ethan-zeidler-apu-dixie-state-672x768.jpg\" alt=\"Ethan Zeidler hauled in a 46-yard touchdown pass from Elffers in the second quarter (Photo by Duane Barker)\" width=\"520\" height=\"594\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-50349\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ethan Zeidler hauled in a 46-yard touchdown pass from Elffers in the second quarter (Photo by Duane Barker)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Elffers\u00a0completed 9 of 13 for 184 yards overall and also ran for 86.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I knew I was eventually going to get my shot.\u00a0My job as just to take advantage of it,&#8221; Elffers said.\u00a0&#8220;It all starts with the line. They did a great job up front.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On the first possession of the second half the Cougars\u00a0marched down the field\u00a0and Scoby capped\u00a0it with a seven-yard TD run &#8211; his third score of the night.<\/p>\n<p>After a bad snap resulted in a safety for the Cougars\u00a0Scoby picked up number four\u00a0of the night on the next possession with a 14-yard jaunt to make it\u00a051-7 with 8:33 left in the third.<\/p>\n<p>D.J. Morgan, spelling Scoby got his first touchdown of the season\u00a0on a three-yard run late in the third quarter to give Azusa Pacific a 58-7 lead.<\/p>\n<p>Jacob Hall kicked the Cougars past the 60 mark with a 34-yard field goal\u00a0in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Orlando Wallace scored on a one-yard run for the Red Storm with 56 seconds left to\u00a0finish the scoring.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I feel that was our most complete game of the year.
