Tanner East connected with BJ McLaurin who weaved his way to paydirt.<br \/>\nThe score remained tied until late in the third period when Brandon Bradshaw got the call on a two yard run. The score was set up when the Bonita special teams broke through and blocked a San Dimas punt. Isaiah Garcia at the Saint 30.<br \/>\nBonita extended their lead to 14 when Romeo Gutierrez muscled his way across the goaline from a yard out with less than a minute gone the the final frame.<br \/>\nThe Bearcat final dagger came midway through the fourth when East connected with Josh Peifer over the middle. Peifer got to the edge, picked up a block and was gone to glory.<br \/>\n*** East completed 12 of 20 passes for 122 yards with two touchdowns and one interception for Bonita.<br \/>\n*** It was a rough night for Saint quaterback Joey Tamayo who hit on seven of 15 passes for 34 yards.<br \/>\n*** Jarrell Sykes led all ground gainers on the night with 67 yards on 18 carries.<br \/>\n*** For the Bearcats Gutierrez had 28 yards on 10 carries and a score.<br \/>\n*** Anthony Bernal led all receivers with six catches but only for 39 yards.<br \/>\n*** McLaurin who was voted player of the game caught four balls for 52 yards and the lone score.<br \/>\n*** Bonita\u2019s defense held San Dimas\u2019 offense to a total of 101 yards.<br \/>\n*** The Saints were forced to three and out\u2019s on eight of their 13 possesions.<br \/>\n*** The Bearcats managed three touchdowns on their seven second half possesions.<br \/>\n*** San Dimas travels south to take on California while Bonita returns home to host Claremont.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; by Duane Barker (Glendora) The annual Smudgepot battle started slowly but ended as it has the since 2012 with Bonita taking home the hardware with a 28-7 win over San Dimas.
