(La Canada, Ca)-\u00a0 The Lady Spartans stifled Fillmore for three quarters enroute to a 46-30 victory in the final game of Pool A play to advance to the semi-finals of the New Year\u2019s Ball Tournament.<\/p>\n
La Canada didn\u2019t allow a field goal in the third quarter and out-scored the Flash 17-2 to cruise into a meeting with Chaminade on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe played fantastic defense for three quarters,\u201d said Lady Spartans head coach Tamar Hill.\u00a0 \u201cThe fourth quarter wasn\u2019t the way we wanted to finish.\u00a0 We can take some positives out of tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n
As easy as the first-three quarters were for the Lady Spartans, the fourth quarter was a complete turnaround for Fillmore\u2019s offense.<\/p>\n
With the starters on the bench for La Canada, the Flash was able to score at will and went on a 19-2 run to end the game.<\/p>\n
The Lady Spartans were led by Tia Chen\u2019s 13 points.\u00a0 Fillmore was led by Victoria Ayala with eight.<\/p>\n

Chaminade over whelmed Keppel for four quarters to advance to the semi-finals of the New Year\u2019s Ball Tournament with a 66-42 win.<\/p>\n
The Aztecs were intimidated by the Eagles size and quickness and were shutdown in the first quarter as they would not get a field goal recorded.<\/p>\n
By the time Alyson Lock (13 points) made a 10-foot jumper in the second quarter, Keppel was down 25-3 with 6:48 to play in the second quarter.<\/p>\n
The Aztecs fought valiantly after a slow start and went on a 10-0 run midway through the second quarter to cut the lead to 13.<\/p>\n
The Eagles went on an 8-0 run to finish the half and extended the lead to 21 when Michelle Jackson (17 points) buried a three-pointer from the corner.<\/p>\n
Chaminade continued to pressure Keppel in the second half by using a high-intensity defense that continued to wreak havoc.<\/p>\n
