Runs for two and throws for two in the Knights win<\/p><\/div>\n<p>By Tim Peterson<\/p>\n<p>(Rosemead) &#8211;\u00a0Humberto Pantoja threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for two more\u00a0to lead Arroyo\u00a0to a 38-21 win over Rosemead Friday night\u00a0at Marinelli Stadium.\u00a0With the victory\u00a0the Knights\u00a0wrapped up the\u00a0Mission Valley League with a perfect 6-0 run.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->After going undefeated in league in 2013, the Knights missed the\u00a0playoffs last year, but rebounded to go\u00a08-2\u00a0overall this year and will now find out Sunday who they will host in a first round playoff game.<\/p>\n<p>Arroyo\u00a0was up 31-21 late in the fourth quarter when Pantoja hit Angel Reyes\u00a0over the middle.\u00a0Reyes did the rest\u00a0breaking a tackle and\u00a0rumbling 48 yards for a score with just over four minutes left to ice it.<\/p>\n<p>Reyes had a big night\u00a0catching three passes\u00a0for 146 yards and two touchdowns.\u00a0Antonio Alcazar\u00a0hauled in\u00a0six passes for 81 yards for Arroyo.<\/p>\n<p>Steven Nava threw two touchdown passes for Rosemead\u00a0&#8211; including a\u00a010-yard strike to Elisha Garner\u00a0early in the four quarter to\u00a0cut the\u00a0Arroyo lead to 24-18. However on the next series\u00a0Pantoja hit Reyes for 30-yard score to put Arroyo up 31-18.<\/p>\n<p>Arroyo halted\u00a0a Rosemead\u00a0drive\u00a0at the Knight 16 on the following series. Jesus Renteria\u00a0booted a\u00a033-yard field goal to make\u00a0it 31-21 with just over six minutes left, before\u00a0Reyes&#8217; big play on the following possession\u00a0put the game away.<\/p>\n<p>***\u00a0Pantoja had 13 carries for\u00a083 yards and the two scores.<\/p>\n<p>***\u00a0Nava completed 17of 24 for 324 yards and two touchdowns and no interceptions.<\/p>\n<p>*** Arroyo scored on its first drive of the game going 70 yards on seven plays. Pantoja scored on an eight yard run.<\/p>\n<p>*** Rosemead took an 8-7 lead on a\u00a030-yard pass from Nava to Garner\u00a0and a two point\u00a0run by for the conversion by Jordan Parham.<\/p>\n<p>*** Arroyo went up 14-8\u00a0on later in the quarter on a\u00a0two-yard run by Thien &#8220;Chuck&#8221; Luu.<\/p>\n<p>*** A scoreless\u00a0second\u00a0quarter\u00a0left the Knights up 14-8 at the half.<\/p>\n<p>*** Arroyo led 24-11 a the end of three on a 31 yard field goal by Jesse Ortiz and a five-yard run by Pantoja.<\/p>\n<p>***\u00a0Darien Camacho\u00a0caught\u00a0six passes for 124 yards for the Panthers.<\/p>\n<p>*** Rosemead\u00a0finished the regular season\u00a05-5 overall and 5-1 in league &#8211; good for a spot in the playoffs.<\/p>\n<p>*** &#8220;That\u00a0score was a lot closer than the scoreboard indicated.
