<\/a>"You're going nowhere" Nebraska's defense shuts down Arizona<\/p><\/div>\n
(San Diego)- Wednesday\u2019s Pacific Life Holiday Bowl featured two Top 25 teams, 22nd ranked Arizona and number 20 Nebraska. It was all Cornhuskers in a 33-0 rout.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A rematch of the 1998 Holiday Bowl where the Wildcats defeated the Huskers 23-20, this year\u2019s Nebraska wasted little time.<\/p>\n
Quarterback Zac Lee took it five yards to the right touchdown following Matt O\u2019Hanlon\u2019s interception of Arizona quarterback Nick Foles third down pass attempt.<\/p>\n
O\u2019Hanlon would end the night with five tackles and picked up the defensive player of the game trophy.<\/p>\n
Foles troubles continued as he completed only six of 20 passed for 28-yards.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t have a good throw all night,\u201d Foles said.<\/p>\n
While Foles and his Wildcats were struggling, Lee and the Huskers were having few problems moving the ball. Using freshman Rex Burkhead as its \u201cWildcat Formation\u201d back, and the scrambling of Lee, Nebraska ran for 235-yards and two touchdowns on the night.<\/p>\n
Offensive Player of the Game, wide out, Niles Paul tormented the Cats by returning punts and kicks, receiving, and even a run racking up 237 total yards, highlighted by a 78-yard touchdown reception from Lee.<\/p>\n
Defensively the Huskers shut down the Arizona offense holding them to 109 total yards.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe came out here to execute, and that\u2019s what we did was execute,\u201d said Nebraska defensive tackle and Heisman finalist Ndamukong Suh.<\/p>\n
Nebraska rolled over Arizona 33-0, and the game is best summed up by Foles, \u201cThey did everything we expected them to do, it just came down to them out playing us.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
