Both teams are improved since that last meeting and both are playing solid football. With the physicality of Northview and the athleticism of Pomona even Las Vegas would have issues handicapping this game. So where is there an edge? Two words, Darreon Lockett! No slight to Steven Comstock but Lockett is the defending champ and has a will to win not seen in this area in a while!

Pomona 34 Northview 27

San Dimas (8-3) at Paraclete (6-5) at Antelope Valley College 7:30pm

These two teams clashed in the Mid Valley Division final in 2013 and the Saints took home the hardware with a 20-14 win at home. San Dimas has got it done on the ground as usual with Jarell Sykes and Dominic Cortez accounting for more than 2,000 yards and 29 td’s. The Spirits counter with Melquis Stovall’s and Braxtin Wilson’s combined 24 td’s. Paraclete hosts this time and that will give them the advantage to advance.

Paraclete 28 San Dimas 23

Sierra Canyon (11-0) vs. Schurr (6-5) at Montebello High School 7:30pm

The Spartans have defied the odds getting this far after the way their season started. The last time they had the cards stacked so high against them was in 2006 and they won a CIF title (and shoes for the Mid Valley staff). So, that gives them a shot this week against Sierra Canyon? No! The Trailblazers are unstoppable on offense at close to 52 points per game while giving up only 14 a game on defense. Sorry Schurr fans the ride was nice but it ends here!

Sierra Canyon 54 Schurr 17

Viewpoint (6-5) vs. Covina (7-4) at West Covina High School 7:00pm

We knew Zach Chulak could sling it (3000+ yards passing with 38td’s) and that would give them a shot against Montebello. What wasn’t expected was the Patriot defense pitching a shutout. After the last two losses against San Dimas and Northview, the naysayers wrote the Colts off and didn’t give them much hope against Arroyo. Covina however got Eric Williams back just in time and got the first round win. Covina will have to get pressure on Chulak or it will be a long night chasing Viewpoint receivers.

Viewpoint 42 Covina 26

Home field semi-final coin flip results:

Sierra Canyon v.
