Margarito Beltran is new HC at Bell Gardens.<\/p><\/div>\n

(Bell Gardens) – Margarito Beltran, who was dismissed as the La Serna head coach the week before the season started, landed as the head coach\u00a0at Bell Gardens Monday.<\/p>\n

“I’m very excited\u00a0to be going to BG.\u00a0I’m looking forward to it,” Beltran said.\u00a0“BG has gone above and beyond for\u00a0me and I’m happy for the opportunity.”<\/p>\n

Beltran\u00a0won a Southeast title\u00a0as the HC at\u00a0La Serna\u00a0in 2013 and appeared in three consecutive CIF championship games from 2011 through 2013.<\/p>\n

Beltran plans to run the same offense that he ran at La Serna and will work with some of the same assistants.<\/p>\n

“They’re not getting the copy, they’re getting the original,” Beltran said of the program. “It’s going to be a lot of work\u00a0but if there’s one thing about me and my assistant coaches, we’re not afraid of hard work.”<\/p>\n

Beltran will also be teaching at Bell Gardens.<\/p>\n

“The plan is for me to be on campus some time in February,”\u00a0Beltran added.<\/p>\n

Bell Gardens finished 6-4 overall in 2015 (3-2 in the Almont League) and missed the playoffs.<\/p>\n

Beltran takes over for Geoff Ackerman who stepped down when the season ended.<\/p>\n
