(Temple City) –\u00a0Temple City was hit with three technical fouls\u00a0resulting in six straight points\u00a0with 37 seconds left\u00a0and\u00a0fell to Norco 72-64 Tuesday night.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Temple City erased a 14 point deficit\u00a0in the fourth quarter to get even\u00a0at 62 and it appeared the Rams had the momentum to\u00a0carry them to the comeback victory.\u00a0The Rams missed on a shot to put them up by two\u00a0and then Norco was fouled on a driving lay-up at the other end.<\/p>\n

TC\u00a0Head Coach\u00a0Eric Chin and\u00a0assistant Rich Hollinger both protested the call and\u00a0boos\u00a0reigned down from stands.\u00a0A fan directly behind the Temple City bench shouted an expletive and\u00a0the official hit\u00a0the Rams with a technical on the bench. Chin and Hollinger both vehemently argued that the\u00a0profanity did not come the bench but from behind it.\u00a0Chin was nailed for a second\u00a0technical and when Hollinger didn’t immediately\u00a0leave the court he was called for the third tech.\u00a0Two free throws and\u00a0six more on the three technicals and a 62-62 tie was suddenly\u00a070-62 Norco.\u00a0Game, set, match.<\/p>\n

TC trailed 21-12 after one and 33-21 at halftime. The Rams were still down\u00a050-37 at the end of three and 14 in the fourth. They finally made their push\u00a0with a suffocating press that flustered Norco. A four point play\u00a0by Brandon Trang\u00a0tied it at 62 with 1:11 left. Then disaster struck.<\/p>\n

Rich Hollinger led the Rams with 23 points.\u00a0He also pulled down\u00a0eight boards and had two steals. Tyler Api had 14 and seven and Zach Jarrard\u00a0had 12 and added seven rebounds.\u00a0Trang was also in double figures with 10 points.<\/p>\n

Cesar Meza got Norco going early\u00a0and finished with 17 points.\u00a0He was 8 for 8 from the charity stripe and dished out seven assists.\u00a0Tyler Wolowicz had 16 and 11 rebounds and Donovan Hayes-Whitehead added 13. Joey Hopper was the fourth Cougar in double figures with 10.\u00a0Isaiah Cannon (cool name) had eight points and four boards.<\/p>\n

Norco improved to 6-5 with the victory while Temple City\u00a0dropped to 8-3. Next up for the Rams is Azusa December\u00a026 at the San Gabriel\u00a0Valley Classic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
