(Glendora) – Bruce English scored\u00a019 points including 15 from three point land to lead Azusa Pacific to a 69-63 win over Dixie State Thursday night at Felix Event Center.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dixie State was up by two over Azusa Pacific at the half. Josh Fuller led\u00a0the\u00a0Red Storm with nine points and Trevor Hill added eight.\u00a0English had a pair of\u00a0threes for the Cougars for six points.<\/p>\n

Austin Dyer hit back to back buckets to break a 42-all tie and give the Cougars a four point advantage . English hit a three and Petar Kutlesic knocked down a\u00a0free throw for an 8-0 run and a 50-42 lead with just over nine minutes left.\u00a0Dixie State went on a\u00a012-4 run to tie it but\u00a0APU came right back\u00a0to reel off seven in a row again capped by another English three for 61-54 lead.<\/p>\n

Cougars go on to win by six.<\/p>\n

English was 6 for 10 from the field and 5 of 8 eight from beyond the stripe. He also pulled down seven rebounds. Dyer, who sparked the Cougars run in the second half, finished with 10 and Will Ward also had 10 points down in the paint.<\/p>\n

Trevor Hill kept the Red Storm in the hunt with 21 points including 13 in the second half. Hill was seven of nine from the field. Brandon Simister had 12 and Fuller added 11.<\/p>\n

Dixie State twice got even in the second half but both times the Cougars answered and gained control.<\/p>\n

With the victory the Cougs improved to 10-3, 4-1 in the PacWest while Dixie State dropped to 5-6 and 2-3.<\/p>\n
