(Monrovia) – Monrovia outscored Keppel 28-8 in the fourth quarter and went on to beat the Aztecs 57-41 on a Friday night in M-Town.<\/p>\n

Monrovia scored just 29 points in\u00a0the\u00a0first three quarters before nearly equaling that total in the final frame.\u00a0Down 33-29 at the end of three,\u00a0the Cats went on a 15-2 run to open the fourth for a\u00a044-35 advantage. Jordan Ware, Jayden Scott and\u00a0Jordan Ware all scored seven points in the quarter\u00a0to lead the charge. Meanwhile the Aztecs went stone cold making only two field\u00a0goals in the fourth to seal their fate.<\/p>\n

Both teams came out\u00a0frigid\u00a0early as the\u00a0first quarter was rife with\u00a0air balls, turnovers\u00a0and miscues. Keppel led 11-9 after one before\u00a0Monrovia went up\u00a018-16 at the half.\u00a0The teams fought to a 7-7 tie in the second quarter\u00a0as they combined to shoot\u00a06 for 26 from the field. Keppel was 3 for 16.<\/p>\n

Friday night in M-Town<\/p><\/div>\n

The pace and the points picked up slightly in the third as Keppel\u00a0outscored Monrovia 17-11 to take the four point lead. The Wildcats were then unleashed in the fourth.<\/p>\n

Scott took scoring honors for Monrovia with 15 and Tyln Sago had 14. Sago also had\u00a0a couple big blocked shots including a Dikembe Mutombo like swat in the fourth that had the crowd\u00a0buzzing. Jordan Ware and Kris Johnson were also in double figures with 13 and 10 respectively.<\/p>\n

Nelson Muronaka led Keppel\u00a0with 12 and was the lone Aztec in double figures.\u00a0He had eight points in the third quarter.\u00a0Bryant Chow had\u00a0eight and Todd Kitigawa finished with seven.<\/p>\n

Monrovia improved to 7-8 with the victory while Keppel dropped to 9-7.<\/p>\n
