(Pasadena) \u2013 The Pasadena Bulldogs (2-0) more than doubled Arcadia (1-1) on Friday night with a 70-33 victory. Pasadena controlled the pace from the whistle, led by George Toyama, who led all scorers with 16 points, going 4 of 5 beyond the arc.<\/p>\n
It took both squads several minutes for the offenses to get going, but it was Pasadena that eventually took control with three-pointers by Toyama and Tyler Barber who hit ten points for the night.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnytime we can get those two shooting the ball well, we are tough to beat,\u201d said Pasadena Head Coach Tim Tucker. \u201cThis is the first game that they were on the same page and shot the ball well.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Bulldogs didn\u2019t settled down, going on a 9-0 run to start the second half. Arcadia tried to pick up the tempo through Taylor Lagace, who led the Apaches with 12 points. Yet a strong Pasadena defense, led by Todd Lewis, didn\u2019t let Arcadia amount to anything, keeping them to 15 in the first half.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe knew what Arcadia are capable of and they have played well all year,\u201d said Tucker. We are on a mission to play great defense and take care for our business.\u201d<\/p>\n
The second half was more of the same as Pasadena continued to control the game. The Bulldog bench was as impressive as the starters, combining for 25 points comparing to 14 coming from Arcadia\u2019s.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are deep but we only have two guys with experience and they are starting to understand the concept of our game and respond,\u201d said Tucker. \u201cThey are all talented players and we\u2019ll use the bench because we are going to play an up tempo style the whole game.\u201d<\/p>\n
The performance that Pasadena showed moved them to 2-0 and at the top of the Pacific meanwhile Arcadia drops to 1-1.<\/p>\n
Pasadena continues the second week of league play visiting Hoover, and hosting CV and Burbank. Arcadia will host Burbank, Burroughs and travel to Muir.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are not worry about targets, we are not worried about Crescenta Valley and Burbank. Our next job is to take care of Hoover,\u201d said Tucker. \u201cWe are not looking over anyone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
