4. The Connecticut Women’s basketball team wraps up a perfect season\u00a0at 38-0 and wins its fourth straight NCAA title with an 82-51 rout of Syracuse. UConn\u00a0has won 75 consecutive games overall.<\/p>\n

5. The Minnesota Timberwolves rally for a 124-117\u00a0overtime win over the Golden State Warriors.\u00a0Golden State (69-9) must now win its last four games to surpass the Chicago Bulls 1995-’96 record season of 72-10.<\/p>\n

6. Allen Iverson and Shaquille O’Neal are two of a ten member class to be inducted into the basketball Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n

7. Duke Freshman Froward\u00a0Brandon Ingram declares for the NBA draft. Ingram has hired an agent which means he won’t be returning to school.<\/p>\n

8. The Oakland Raiders sign\u00a0free agent pass rusher Aldon Smith to a contract. Smith won’t be able to return to the team until November due to a suspension.<\/p>\n

9. The El Monte\u00a0head football coach search.<\/p>\n

10. On this date in 1987 Dodger GM\u00a0Al Campanis appears on Nightline\u00a0with Ted Koppel\u00a0saying blacks may not be equipped to\u00a0be in baseball management leading to a controversy and his firing.<\/p>\n
